Liberty is not your friend. I wish people would understand in general these insurance companies are all about themselves.I did hire one, Liberty Mutual suggested that so, they can get their money back. However, I have no idea what the settlement will be. I was assuming it would cover lost wages, medical, and pain and suffering. Lawyers cannot tell me what I can expect, so I am not holding my breath. I do not mind working, but I sure don't want to be having to take muscle relaxers and pain killers to deal with the pain while driving. Not safe for people around me or myself. Curious if there is something else I can do for same pay, although going back to the Hub or an Office sure sends shivers down my spine. Especially with all the office politics etc. Maybe never having to work again would be a good thing if I can't drive on my own.

Hi,
I got injured on the job, but was another companies fault. They have accepted responsibility. Anyhow, getting close to a year with a head and neck injury. I have had all kinds of procedures and nothing is helping. I have neck bad pain and headaches, and have to take pain meds and muscle relaxers. I was told by my doctor that after one year I lose my UPS healthcare. I took a functional capacity exam and did not pass. Not sure what to do. I am trying to figure out my future. If I am not able to continue driving, do I have any options? Pretty stressed out out the future, I finally had a route I liked, now this curveball.
Nope. Not babboo….. I’ll wait till the episode loops around again. Not babboo??
UPS does not like the Dr. I am seeing. He is one of the good ones. However, he does not seem to know much about how workers comp attorneys work. Unfortunately, my liability lawyer does not either. Wish I would have done more research on lawyers, the lawyer is a big name lawyer, that is why I thought they would be good. They even state they handle workers comp, but seems they know very little. Maybe it is just the pre litigation attorney that doesn't know? The case is still in pre litigation. They don't want to settle case until I am released from Doctor. Seems like I am never going to be released because nothing has been fixed. Keep doing trial and error pain mgt. that does not work, then going in circles to the same doctors, to try this or that with lots of needles and injections to no avail .JFC.
You need a worker’s compensation attorney yesterday. “Your“ doctor you are seeing works for liberty mutual. He doesn’t give a if you ever heal properly or not. His sole job is to get you to return to work and limit UPS and Liberty Mutuals liability. A good workers comp attorney worth their salt will take your case and agree to payment of a percentage of your ending settlement. Usually 10 percent or so. Workers comp injuries are on a sliding scale and are worth a range of money. You need to sue UPS/Liberty mutual for the injuries you sustained ON THE JOB with a workers comp attorney. You should also sue the company that you claim was at fault for your injury as well. Don’t feel bad or make weak excuses, if you are truly injured as extensively as you said, you will still not make up for your lost wages, healthcare, and pension that you are incurring. Call your local union and make them aware if you haven’t already done so, they may recommend a lawyer to help you.
In my dealings with LM once I got through all the and was finally able to get to a real surgeon the Dr’s were more than helpful to my case. Even had one tell me that they called him asking when my return to work date was and he told them when I’m ready he’ll be back and gave me 4 more weeks of time off for recovery. Even had one of the LM nurses who came to appointments with me do more for me than I’m sure LM would’ve liked.JFC.

They put me through a week of physical therapy before I even got an MRI, who does that? There was a nice nurse I dealt with for Liberty Mutual for a while, but I think they fired her. Maybe she was too nice, I dunno. L/M would not pay for sedation for a set of 4 deep injections I had to get, where you have to remain completely still under X-ray. That was a bitch!!!! I did not expect that!!! Will never do that again. Overall, just slow backwards experience, and painful! In my dealings with LM once I got through all the and was finally able to get to a real surgeon the Dr’s were more than helpful to my case. Would you be able to advise of the W/C lawyer you used?I wish you the best...if me I'd get most out of all parties involved.

I did, they recommended getting lawyer, but did not have one to recommend
In all honesty, those ers were no help when I needed a comp attorney. I found one on my own and he kicked ass, as a matter of fact I’m continuing to give his number out to this day to other victims of LM. 20 years now.

I realized that I bit after I posted, that everyone here on this forum is from all over the country Doh!!! Anyhow, I have reached out to a few workers comp attorneys where I live and they all have said since I have a liability attorney they will not take the case, and the liability attorney can basically do what they canI think it’s best if you get someone local
Yeah ok, a lawyer turning down money. Got it.I realized that I bit after I posted, that everyone here on this forum is from all over the country Doh!!! I have a liability lawyer. The workers comp attorneys I have contacted so far, say that because I have a lawyer they cannot take the case. I am thinking they want the entire case and not just the workers comp part. I dunno, but I am going to contact more. As for lawyers turning down money I called several and as soon as I said I have a workers comp case they referred me to another lawyer, even though they advised workers comp cases on their website.Yeah ok, a lawyer turning down money. Got it.
