If DIAD VI follows the pattern...

There are many here, including myself, who can tell you similar stories.

You could probably spin us yarns about unloading drop frame pups, too.

Roller gaps and panels falling on your head.

Or sorting a trailer and a runout/missort belt at the same time before PAS.

Or, ring scanning 2000 pkgs and loading them into the box line. Before PAS.

Did you ever get a splinter from the wooden bulkhead?

When those dropframe flaps would fall on your head, it hurt like a mother!

Back before DIAD there was a sense of honor to get the job done right. You would rush to deliver to get air off on time. You wouldn't "soak" packages, you would deliver them. Seems that when DIAD made its appearance, that was the start of the transition from service to numbers orientation.

I have zero experience with any of the first four examples.

I lost count of how many splinters I got from those damn doors.

When diad V first came out, the training guy said he'd already seen a prototype of the Diad VI. He said it was the size of a thick smartphone. I don't know if he was bullschitting us or if he was right, but I hope not. We need that last line of defense against dogs. It's bad enough it has shrunk as much as it has.

I guess I don't really care as long as they move the damn signature button and stop flipping the display over because every dummy goes to sign it upside down.

Yes, I know I'm working late.

With my luck, the new diad will be cat flavored

deep down inside I really do not care
And that wasn't exactly ancient times. Less than 10 years ago I was still u loading them.
My last year in the hub we still had them.I was a loader and loading the drops was a breeze, just let that stuff fall where is lands, close the flap and continue.Of course the next day we would get photos from an unload sup at the destination hub and a scolding that we ignored.
