Except when "remote delivery" appeared in the mid 90's.I've been here since 86, and I never saw anything like that happen where I'm at.
"Every package every day" was all we heard.

There are many here, including myself, who can tell you similar stories.
You could probably spin us yarns about unloading drop frame pups, too.
Roller gaps and panels falling on your head.
Or sorting a trailer and a runout/missort belt at the same time before PAS.
Or, ring scanning 2000 pkgs and loading them into the box line. Before PAS.
Did you ever get a splinter from the wooden bulkhead?
And that wasn't exactly ancient times. Less than 10 years ago I was still u loading them. When those dropframe flaps would fall on your head, it hurt like a mother!

With my luck, the new diad will be cat flavoredWhen diad V first came out, the training guy said he'd already seen a prototype of the Diad VI. He said it was the size of a thick smartphone. I don't know if he was bullschitting us or if he was right, but I hope not. We need that last line of defense against dogs. It's bad enough it has shrunk as much as it has.

We were hi-tech. We had pagers.I though we used scribes?
My last year in the hub we still had them.I was a loader and loading the drops was a breeze, just let that stuff fall where is lands, close the flap and continue.Of course the next day we would get photos from an unload sup at the destination hub and a scolding that we ignored. And that wasn't exactly ancient times. DIAD 1 compared to paper was awesome. DIAD 5 is too slow between scans.
So I guess ups will be giving us phonesThe next diad will just be a app you download on your phone.
