Operational needs

If they ordered earlier, the same packages would be delivered, the jobs would be secure, and lowly box humpers would have an opportunity to enjoy the holiday also. It's really not that hard.
FedEx used to announce a deadline for small shippers shipping packages to get them by Christmas. I don’t understand why they can’t do that to companies like Amazon, who we’re not making much off of in the first place.

So in your opinion what would be an acceptable question?

Most questions about the performance or direction of Express as a whole.

If non-DOT employees are expected to work very long hours to get those packages off, to the point they have little time to spend with their own families, and feel unsafe, do they not have a right to address those concerns to someone high enough up the ladder to actually do something about it? Or is it just a photo op?

They have every right to tell someone higher up that they don't want to be busy during peak.

It has a lot to do with morale. It’s easy to order the front line people to work Christmas Eve when you know you’ll be at a resort in the Caribbean or wherever.

I don't know about you, but it's just as easy for me to do my job whether the higher-ups are working on any given day or are off doing something else. I don't want their jobs, they don't want mine, it's none of my business where they are, and I don't care anyway.

Oh I doubt that. You're of the management-is-God ilk, and it's highly likely you crave their power and prestige.

Why didn't you go into management and you could have worked your way into their position. It is easy to complain about upper management and their perks and pay. It's another to actually become management and enjoy those perks.

Worst thing about management. You might have people like tex and operational working for you. I am not sure any perks are worth having those 2 work for you.

We don't guarantee anything that ships after Thanksgiving. We are cutting Amazon off. They want a bunch of extra trailers and we're saying no. Too much big IC garbage, slows down the sort too much.

I've known a number of great managers and a few seniors I'd go to war for. But most of them, no.

I would expect them to say that whatever isn’t delivered by Saturday, 12/23 won’t get delivered until 12/26, thereby allowing FedEx “team members” the opportunity to enjoy the holiday with their families. And by doing so, putting the “People” back in PSP....

Apparently you didn't get the memo, the P, in PSP does in fact stand for People, but the People it refers to is the Customers.. not employees...

Yeah, what about Amazon's so-called delivery service? FedEx needs to tell them that you're not profitable enough, your cut-off date is December 5th. Good luck delivering all that stuff with Uber drivers.
