I believe Obama had a middle class tax cut also. In payroll deductions. In fact I'm almost positive of it. You may end up looking silly on this one.
Yes it was part of the stimulus package. About a third of the $800 Billion stimulus was tax cuts. It was a good tax cut because it actually worked. When Bush jr cut taxes to "stimulate" the economy in 2008, no one spent it. But Obama's hidden tax cut ,most people didnt even realize they were getting one , but they actually brought more take home money in their weekly checks. Thankyou President Obama!

Again, Obama did not ram through anything. It went threw the democratic process after running on health care reform during the election in which he won 53% of the vote. Repubs had the chance to vote and offer alternatives but they chose to do nothing but cry socialism.Obama's reforms arent perfect but they are the result of compromise with moderate repubs and conservative dems.
Sometimes it's worth it. From what I understand, Air Traffic Control has become high stress, low reward in the years since. I can only imagine what teaching will become. k=12 kids don't do well going into "holding patterns".

Among the threats the Justice Department is investigationg is one that was emailed to Republican Senators Wednesday night. Newsradio 620 WTMJ has obtained that email.
The following is the unedited email:
Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your familes
will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks. Please explain
to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it
will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit
that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for
more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.
WE want to make this perfectly clear. Because of your actions today and in
the past couple of weeks I and the group of people that are working with me
have decided that we've had enough. We feel that you and the people that
support the dictator have to die. We have tried many other ways of dealing
with your corruption but you have taken things too far and we will not stand
for it any longer. So, this is how it's going to happen: I as well as many
others know where you and your family live, it's a matter of public records.
We have all planned to assult you by arriving at your house and putting a
nice little bullet in your head. However, we decided that we wouldn't leave
it there. We also have decided that this may not be enough to send the
message to you since you are so "high" on Koch and have decided that you are
now going to single handedly make this a dictatorship instead of a
demorcratic process. So we have also built several bombs that we have placed

Well, now that the bill in wisconsin was passed through political manuevering, we can at least claim victory in knowing that the "Collective bargaining" rights of the union was the focus of the republican action in WI and not the budget as advertised.
It is clear, since all the financial aspects of the bill were stripped away and only collective bargaining left in the legislation that it was a union busting tactic and not a solution to a fiscal crisis.
Up next on the republican agenda is another attempt at overturning the fair labor standards act of 1938 and eliminating the federal minimum wage. Further, attacks on social security, medicare, vacations and overtime are on the horizon.
It will eventually touch all workers union and non union alike.

How much do YOU contribute to you benifit package? Last I checked we contribute nothing. But come next contract I will bet you you will be paying something. And once that door is open we are all in trouble. Lucky for me I will be retired.

I can not believe how many union members we have Cheer leading for people that would cut your throat. What are you gonna do when UPS gets rid of your union? Do you think you will have insurance, 6 weeks vacation and 30 dollars per hour when that day comes. We had better wake up. UPS sees you as a liability not an asset. And the same goes for supervisors that think they are untouchable. UPS only cares about MONEY.

No one is suppose to be in the State Capitol, but like the roaches from the cracks, up pops Jesse Jackson.....says he's going to escalate the demonstrations. Any more dynamic and they'd be violent. I think old Jesse would like to see some violence. Who knew he was a 'CHEESEHEAD'.

You are SOOOOOO right!!! Any union member who thinks that the Teamsters Union is immune to this class warfare is in for a rude shock when the next contract comes due. UPS Teamster jobs are among the few left that pay a good wage and good benefits. That won't last. The plutocracy needs to destroy any possible opposition to their money grab, and the only organized group left to counter their purchasing of elections is organized labor. Since most Americans have had their jobs beaten down to substandard wages and few if any benefits, those who still have good jobs and benefits will be targeted. That's UPS Teamster employees, folks. But go ahead, keep drinking the Koch Kool-Aid and snipe at your fellow workers, while the Wall Street Fat Cats take home record paychecks and profits.
