I say generally, because it does receive some taxpayer money. The Government forces the USPS to give free, or highly reduced postage, to certain groups. The government pays for this through taxpayer money.

But, this is not what funds the USPS. This is only for Governmental special services.
Now do government spending for USPS federal health, welfare and pension.

Some of these guys will load their trucks more than an hour before start time or skip their lunch and eat it at the building late at night lol. I always tell them they’re idiots. and they will be doing it their whole career because UPS loves it.
I love covering the routes where the driver takes lunch at the end of day, Especially because their pickup schedule is so heavy.....

The search result you cut and paste says the same thing.

Most federal agencies receive annual congressional appropriations to contribute towards CSRS and FERS. The Postal Service does not. Instead, it's required to pay retirement contributions with agency revenue.

The US government provides many things to the USPS from debt forgiveness to EV funding.. These are things private companies like UPS don't receive. The USPS shouldn't be competing with private companies and private unions. Public service unions should be illegal.

Heard next week surepost is going back to the post office, what a fun 2 weeks it been.
I dont see how. Surepost should've ended when smartpost ended.

"(1) In the event the Company’s competition eliminates its service
comparable to Surepost, either nationwide or in any service area,
the Company shall discontinue Surepost on the same basis."
