Our volume has been super low all week. 15 drivers getting laid off Monday. All of those pters that thought they were going to get a RPCD gig because of surepost are going to be disappointed.

In Ohio here (small hub) and we're extremely slow on pre-load. Been getting mostly 6 trucks a day with anywhere between 400-500% total when we would usually be getting closer to 600-650%

What is busy? Peak pkg day Dec20 plus or minus two days we now have drivers scrambling to get 8.
Aug(depending on area) the lowest pkg day drivers are over 12 and maybe doing two sets of pickups. Years ago this was reversed. It all depends on Stops per car and or dispatcher.

I haven’t brought that up yet. We are going through the process and trying to do what we can. Limited resources and a very young group.

No layoffs here yet, and I don’t ever remember anyone inside being laid off here. They might ask people if they want to go home after they come in, but that’s it.

Had a driver ask me if I thought anyone would notice if he just started dropping off some surepost packages at the post office, not all of them mind you, just the runners.

We had 2 drivers laid off this past week and will have 5 laid off this coming week. The sups are being told some crazy number like 143 spc and are trying to do that even though we have quite a few more rural routes. Yesterday, they pushed the air car departure time back to 20:00 to try to get all that air volume back in time. I clocked out at 20:06 and there were still multiple people out. For reference, we have maybe 55 to 60 full time drivers now and they cut it down to 34 routes.
