What does that have to do with the formula changing for figuring the unemployment number?

Who cares, those numbers will never be accurate !
How many people do you know that work under the table ?
Be it an automechanic, or carpenter, house painter/renovator, electrician, or even house cleaning. Can't forget drug dealers and prostitutes either.

Black market economies are estimated to be the second largest world economy. That should be a clue that government only gets in the way of prosperity.

He failed to mention that the House wanted to extend those cuts for a year.......no, the Senate chose 2 months....so now they are at it again!

Obama Peddles BS Unemployment Report, Says “Recovery Is Speeding Up” – Then Blames Bush Anyway…
No. It. Isn’t.
Via USA Today:
President Obama saluted “more good news about our economy” today, and made an election-year argument that “we can’t go back to the policies that led to the recession.”

Obama spoke at an Arlington, Va., fire house just hours after the Labor Department reported that the economy added 243,000 new jobs in January, and the unemployment rate dropped to 8.3%.
While “these numbers will go up and down” in the coming months, Obama told firefighters that “the economy is growing stronger — the recovery is speeding up.”

To that end, Obama urged Congress to extend the payroll tax cut that expires at the end of February, and not let the issue get bogged down in politics.

“Don’t muck it up,” Obama said to Congress.

Friday, February 3, 2012 @ 12:22 pm | Obamanomics: Real Unemployment Rate Rose To 11.01%, Underemployed Up To 17.6%…

Obama is in Virginia today touting the unemployment numbers released this morning. Here are the facts, and they are ugly.
Via Net Right Daily:
Once again, the civilian labor force participation rate has declined, from 64 percent to 63.7 percent in a single month. Since January 2009, it has declined from 65.7 percent, resulting in approximately 4.7 million people no longer being counted towards the unemployment rate.

If they were included, the real rate of unemployed working age adults would be 11.01 percent, and the underemployed would be 17.6 percent.

Overall, that includes the 12.7 million people that BLS says are actually unemployed, and then 4.7 million who have given up looking for work, plus another 10.5 million who can’t find full-time work.

All together, there’s 28 million working age adults who simply cannot find work in the Obama economy.

On Fox news this morning ( so it's probably not true) a lady was reporting on 5 companies who were doing a bunch of hiring. The second one she mentioned was U.P.S.. .......right after Pizza Hut.

She talked about the benefits and made a big deal about the school reimbursment. I don't remember the other ones....my dog was whining for her food and I was trying to get it ready for her and listen to the TV at the same time. Multi-tasking!

Bernanke: Labor Market 'Still Far From Normal'

"The job market is far from normal," he said in comments prepared for delivery to the House of Representatives Financial
Services committee. Bernanke's remarks suggested another round of Fed bond buying to stimulate growth is not
off the table as policymakers assess whether job market gains will persist.

So, where's the money?????

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) – An audit has found that a portion of an $11 million federal grant intended to provide business attire to 400 low-income job-seekers in Detroit helped only two people.
The audit of the city’s Department of Human Services found the department failed to control the operations and finances of a boutique that was to provide clothes, the Detroit News reported. The city’s auditor general conducted the review for the period from July 2009 to September 2011.

The center, at 1970 Larned, included the Customer Choice Pantry, the New Beginnings Clothing Boutique and a call center that had the capacity to service 60,000 families in need. The boutique was to provide business attire for low-income residents for job interviews.

To receive clothing, residents were required to have a job interview scheduled. According to the audit, the DHS was supposed to help 400 people between October 2010 and September 2011 but instead served only two.

new applications for jobless....362,000 and last week's numbers were revised upwards.

Are you celebrating? 362 is still LOWER than what BUSH had for his last 2 years straight and its also the 24th straight month of private industry growth and goverment job reductions.

Sounds like the country is still heading in the right direction.

Peace
