Their benefits are worth more than what they make in a year
I know at least 3 ( 2 CPA's or some Finance-type, 1 Retail store owner), they all make very good money (except maybe the retail guy) and they have wives and kids. They all benefit from them working PT. I saw one moving a "can" ULD that goes into a jet and I swear a 95 year old man could move faster. The ball mats that the cans roll on literally do all the work.

My job is fun
And honestly this is why I have zero sympathy for them, Full benefits, pension, plus vacation for 20 hours a week. And yes I did 6 years PT working 2 jobs. If you want more either put your time in or go FT when you get the chance.
Yea 100% they have every opportunity to better their life and make more then a “livable” wage but a lot choose not to.

If you were working that many hours on a regular basis they should make it a full-time job
A lot of shifters work 10-13 hours a day. They’re getting :censored2:ed with the pension. I’ve mentioned this with the BA. Also, we don’t have OT after 5 here. People are dumbfounded when I tell them getting 5-6 hours a day isn’t exactly the norm.

Of course, during peak, seasonal pt was making more per hr than the permanent pt. Adding insult to injury, they also got a bonus each week just to show up every day!
AND, they still could not keep enough of the new hires on more than a few days or a week.
