WOW  CONGRATULATIONS  Did you break your arm patting yourself on the back? Get back to me when you've done some actual thinking.

A "modern" phenomena = a capitalist phenomena lol. Imagine, companies that stake existence on maximizing profits want "to keep labor costs down". And yet you still can't admit it, because you managed to do well for yourself. The enemy is not the union, not even the company, not even the government, but this idiotic way of life. And nevertheless you're just a peon just like the rest of us.
Admit this, if any company, farm, small or large business did not make a profit then they can not exist, or have paid employees.
Actually, I have thought about this subject and will admit to that fact.
Idiotic way of life?
Maybe you should join the commune that Bernie Sanders was part of and got kicked of out because he did not do his part.

Got his job as a politician at the age of 40 (first paying job) and is now a multi millionaire telling people how to live.
Yep, being a socialists' can pay off when you use capitalist money.
Better being a peon, is better than being peed on.

First of all, you've tagged me wrong. I voted for the OZ slate in the IBT election but I didn't bother showing up for Bernie, let alone Hillary or Biden or Trump. :wink-very: You think you're wise voting for this or that stupid candidate who's against "socialism" but you're being peed on just the same.

Yes, I'm in favor of businesses no longer existing. To my mind a minimal definition of communism, as I would have it, is the abolition of all wage labor. People like you pay lip service to "freedom" then think nothing of following orders all the livelong day for an employer, e.g., slaving for a wage because you think the only way to live is by "paying your dues" in order to pay the bills. Where's the freedom? You need to have the minimal means and skills to support yourself amidst a society committed to liberty in order to actually enjoy it. You'll hate to hear it, but freedom is not easy to achieve without a supportive society. We're social animals. And a supportive society is exactly we don't have. In this society we work for purposes that aren't ours just to survive. That's not freedom; you adulterate the word if you say it is.

So no businesses, and no wag labor. Hmmmm.

How’s a guy supposed to get something to eat?

It's sad that you can only imagine selling your time and labor in order to survive.
No, I help operate a business in a field (transportation) I enjoy. I don’t sell myself to survive, I work to prosper. And I am prospering.

And you totally avoided my question. If there is no business and no wage labor how do I eat? I can’t open my own business you have outlawed it. Is everyone in your world raising their own food supply independently?

Gotta tell you I like working at UPS so much more than I like ranching and farming. Luckily I have freedom to choose my path, maybe you like agriculture...you are free to choose as well.

“Freedom” should not come without “responsibility”.
Do you honestly think freedom should mean that the vast majority of people have to answer to exploiters til kingdom come? How about people have a real choice how to live, instead of the false choice of selling their labor to "competing" racketeers who all try to exploit it to the maximum?

I have a real choice and I am happy with it. How do you define “exploit”? I am paid well, have great benefits, and am set up to retire comfortably. I’m soooooo exploited!

No, you don't follow the point.

I did not avoid your question at all. No profits, no "businesses" as we know them, no wage labor. How do you eat? People ate for the better part of 100,000 years without "businesses", including grocery stores and farmers' markets, and without wage labor. I'm not trying to draw up a master plan. That would be foolish; things are never so simple.

If you're farming and ranching as a second job, I don't blame you. You're working all the time.

Please, tell me about this choice I am being denied? I can work for a big company, or I can work for a small company. I can learn a different skill or trade or craft if I want. I can pursue my own business if I wasn’t.

What is the choice I am missing? I’m serious. Please tell me what your idea of “freedom” is.

People did eat for 100,000 years without the modern world we have today. They certainly had little freedom they did noting but hunt for food. Not my idea of a good time, hard pass.

Again.. if you do away with business and wage labor tomorrow then what? I’m pretty happy with what I’m doing and the rewards I get.

Look at all the choices: you and I can sell ourselves this way or that way lol!!! You don't see what I'm saying. To have a real choice you would have to be able to "opt out" of the current arrangement with some viability, e.g., "vote with your feet" without the likely option being living on the streets. We don't have access to land or, for the most part, skills, without money and/or this or that form of indenture.
