Yes. We have that option on Xmas eve and good Friday. Still worked 7+ hours and probably had a 4 hour dispatch. You "caved" Christmas Eve, right?

It doesn't make employees "weak" for wanting to get off early, and not work an 8 hour day.Yes. We have that option on Xmas eve and good Friday. Still worked 7+ hours and probably had a 4 hour dispatch.
Does everyone get their 8?
What is code 5, and where is it in the contract? I'm pretty sure a few of those guys could of had Monday off but were denied, because of this code 5 thing. So instead of 20 at 8 it's 30 at 6, no lunch.....and probably no break as well?Nope.
Rather than put just 18-20 guys on road our center manager decided to put 30 guys on the street, all working Code 05.
It does however make it harder to request your 8 the next time.It doesn't make employees "weak" for wanting to get off early, and not work an 8 hour day.
You can still take a break with an 05. its just not common because 05 days are usually lightWhat is code 5, and where is it in the contract? That's the easiest day of the year.15 guys in the morning making deliveries, 15 guys in the afternoon making pickups.
Code 05, punch to punch, no lunch.
Did I mention that I have Monday off?

I did about a third of my normal stops than usual. Had a few extra pickups and got paid for over 9 hours. No, it's not. Running a whole bunch of pickups that you don't know, getting yelled at for picking them up too early...thanks, but no thanks.
We get a 15 minute paid break.Break? Yes.
What ever language is superior, either state law or your contract. You are entitled to your paid break on a code 05 day. At least here you are.
That's why I commented about your center, it's bad for business. Sometimes working less guys makes sense on paper but in reality it's the customers who get the shaft. No, it's not. And they get screwed out of pay...no way! Why? All of the deliveries will be made, all of the pickups made and the guys get a decent day.
