Never seen an employer like Costco respond to a union vote like this before. Thoughts?

The threat of unions is what prompts many places to provide better benefits. Ends up with almost the same result without a union.

Every contract at the Aluminum Plant, whatever they get, the non-union chemical plant 30 miles down the road gets a nickel or two more.
