We have a republican governor. Democratic legislature.

Republican Sam Brownback and the republican legislature own it all in Kansas. Got exactly what they wanted back in '12 and rode it all the way to disaster in only 5 years.

Took Illinois decades.:)
Kansas isn't about to go under and Illinois has been a disaster glossed over for a very long time.

We've gone over this before. I live in Kansas. It's not crashing and burning. The hidden story behind that is the simple truth that you're highly unlikely to attract business to the state outside of the K.C. suburbs. Maybe Topeka. They can try whatever they want tax wise but if the lifestyle isn't there people aren't going to move here.
So I guess Forbes is just a left-wing hack job publication?

Did it bother you when Obama did it? Should have, he was the best at spending the most.
Yes.
Pathetic deflection you just attempted lol.
Does it bother you now when Trump wants to repeat the spending AND decrease taxes ballooning the debt even more? Or are you just a full blown unapologetic hypocrite?

No, but they're not in Kansas either. They, like everyone else, tend to sensationalize to some extent. Makes for better reading.
Not really. The republican congress (per the Forbes article) is forcing at least a slowing of of the experiment because it's a failure.

I find that impossible to believe since a republican held congress had to sign off on anything spent.
They didn't hold it his first two years. They did slow it down though after getting in power. Still think he was trying the tried and true Cloward and Piven method. Break the bank then remold the country into a socialist entity. And would've accomplished that had not the Repubs gotten power. The people have spoken by installing Republicans in much greater numbers than Democrats throughout the land. Can't deny election results. People saw the direction the country is going and good ol' checks and balances corrected it. Now if Repubs in Congress would just grow a set we might get the country back on track.

What deflection? You want to talk about spending. He spent the most by far. You want to talk about all spending but his. So who's the hypocrite? But yes, I want them to clamp down on the spending and retire as much debt as possible. It's absolutely the most critical thing needed at this time.

I said I wasn't in favor of his spending.
What is the purpose of talking about his spending now?
Just to bitch and moan like a big cry baby?
No, the purpose is to deflect from the fact Trump's presidency will see just as much debt increase, most likely more, as it it rises with every single president.

You want to cut debt, but support cutting taxes with no promise to cut spending.
That will raise the debt. So ya, you're a hypocrite.

You think Trump is going to spend 9 trillion+? It takes real effort to spend that kind of money. Not going to happen. You want to criticize and belittle while sweeping Obama's much greater spending under the rug. Now that's hypocrisy.

Why not cut taxes and then downsize everything because the revenue isn't there? And earmark a percentage of revenue for debt retirement?
Because they've tried that time and time again and the spending never gets cut and the debt always rises. Do the hard part first for a change.

Actually with Republican Congress installed in '94 and the surging economy the budget got balanced, with a surplus of revenue. Got squandered by Bush, and Obama doubled down. That and unmitigated greed that led to the 2008 meltdown.

Now had I suggested that, you would have poo-pooed that and said it was just the "dot com bubble". Couldn't help but notice that you left President Clinton's name out of the equation.
