They’re not what they used to be. This is from experience.
In what way? I have two newer ones, 2007 and 2016, and one from 1980 with no issues. They’re not what they used to be. This is from experience.
The polishing and bluing are no where near what they used the be. I sent a gun to them for rebluing and I wasn’t happy. I have another Colt police positive that was made in 1939, the original owner carried in WW2 as a pilot, he had it redone at Colt. It’s like a python. In what way? I guess we'll see. They do do two different types of bluing. The polishing and bluing are no where near what they used the be. I sent a gun to them for rebluing and I wasn’t happy. Interesting. I wasn’t offered 2 types, but that was about 15 years ago. The Police Positive looks like it was made yesterday, blue is flawless.I guess we'll see. They do do two different types of bluing.
That puts it in about the same timeframe as my '07. Maybe you got a dud job.Interesting. I wasn’t offered 2 types, but that was about 15 years ago.
It’s possible. I was underwhelmed. I sold it.That puts it in about the same timeframe as my '07. Maybe you got a dud job.
Any pics? I'm curious as to what was wrong with it.It’s possible. I was underwhelmed. I sold it.
I ended up selling it. No pics. I’m didn’t have a smart phone then. The bluing was dull. Mind you, I have a 1966 Detective Special, same gun, blue is beautiful outside of the grip area.Any pics? I'm curious as to what was wrong with it.
Interesting. Because what I was saying about two different bluing types, there's charcoal blue and royal blue, with royal being the more conventional Colt finish. Charcoal on the other hand is less polished and more dark grey in appearance. The bluing was dull.
I ordered the royal blue. Nothing like it used to be. S&W is the same, they all modified the process because of the chemicals being banned. It’s uneven now.Interesting. The government ing up a good thing? Say it isn't true.I ordered the royal blue. Nothing like it used to be. S&W is the same, they all modified the process because of the chemicals being banned.
That’s why they pushed stainless guns. Nothing like a blued revolver though. The government ing up a good thing? Say it isn't true.
Buntline revolver? 12" at least?
Still about $225 for 1000 40 cal fmj bullets. They say ammo prices are coming down. I think they should come down a lot more and faster.
Buntlines are interesting but more of an oddity to me.Buntline revolver? 12" at least?
How about primers? That was the big problem not long ago.Still about $225 for 1000 40 cal fmj bullets.
