I am not making things up. Apparently you need to know more than you think you do.
What part of Texas did/do you live in?
Spent 4 years in Lubbock. Made several trips to Dallas and San Antonio. At no time did I come anywhere close to 85 mph.
North and west parts. I have an uncle in Amarillo and my aunt was around San Angelo. Lots of flat and straight and very empty roads.
btw, I was born in Texas.
So because you didn't drive 85 neither did the other 25 million people in Texas? What part of Texas did/do you live in?

When I drive in DC and Miami at 80 mph I was get passed like I was parked.I am by no means a slow driver but I don't ever recall getting my doors blown off while on I-10, 20, 27 or 40.
What I do recall is watching some of the natives try to drive on snow or ice. Hilarious.
