Oh--- I get that part---as far as I'm concerned all that is accomplished by this is that there is less opportunity for part timers to become a driver. Why did the Union (which by the way is the employees) let this BS happen?
What could the union have done to prevent this from happening? Nothing---the Union cannot tell the company how to run the business.
I guess we should be thankful that, unlike w/SmartPost, which is straightlined directly from the shipper to the Post Office, UPS hourly employees handle SurePost from the shipper all the way until we drop if off at the PO.
SurePost, much like most of our other service offerings, has morphed from the original intent (residential smalls).
SurePost is not going anywhere.
