I don't ever feel unsafe in an Airbus. But as a pilot, I don't like their thinking. When I'm in the left seat that is my aircraft. I'm in control. I do not want a computer telling me the bank angle I'm making is too steep or the runway too short. I know what I'm doing, let me handle it.

I bet you have an upside down tattoo on the back of your neck that says the same thing.I know what I'm doing, let me handle it.

I know how johhny has played up to this point. I know how sf has played. It was a no brainer.
Unfortunately cars are the same way now and getting worse every year. It's hard to find a real "driver's car" anymore unless you start shelling out $60k or more. There are two types of thought in aviation.
Airbus believes the aircraft should be automated. The computer is always smarter than the pilot and can make better decisions.
Boeing believes the pilot should have the final authority as to decisions onto the flight. Computers are just an aid to the pilot.
Personally I like Boeing's thought process better. Airbus builds cockpits for comfort. Boeing builds cockpits for pilots.
That I disagree with. But the set up does allow for more confusion if you aren't trusting your instruments. My thought is in an Airbus the pilots won't be prepared to take control and do the right thing in an emergency.
Luckily they aren't over automating them yet though. When driverless cars get perfected it will be bad.Unfortunately cars are the same way now and getting worse every year. It's hard to find a real "driver's car" anymore unless you start shelling out $60k or more.
Not true. Get a challenger rt.......Unfortunately cars are the same way now and getting worse every year. It's hard to find a real "driver's car" anymore unless you start shelling out $60k or more.
