I actually don't think any of them did. I doubt they could get a first class medical certificate after that. I got one of those at 19 and the exam was nuts. I can't imagine what it would be like after all that trauma from getting hit by a hammer and age on top of it.

That guy was amazing. If he tilted his wings just a degree or two he would have made the thing cartwheel and everyone would have died. The airmanship is amazing.

My first ever flight lesson I was going to be Mr Bad A** pilot guy. Walk out onto the ramp and break out my aviators, felt like I was the man. Flight instructor looks at me and says "Ready to fly Maverick?" Never wore aviators ever again.
