If he did attend the school, YOU and moreluck would be all over it, citing the COST to the taxpayers and the ABUSE of tax dollars to do it.

The guy cant win either way.

Besides, in reality, there isnt sufficient time to put together a a security plan that would cover traffic and security of the school.

Too many nuts with guns in this country.

School officials sent an official request for Obama to attend the renaming ceremony in 2009 and then again in 2012, when he was just a stone’s throw away at Hofstra University for the presidential election debate — but the students keep hearing “no” from the White House.
A district school board official even offered to have the kids line up outside the fundraiser just to glimpse the president if he really didn’t have time to pay a visit.

“If your schedule does not permit a visit to our district, could we arrange to have some of our students meet and greet outside the fundraiser with a Barack Obama Elementary School jacket?” board of education president Lamont E. Johnson wrote in a letter to the president, dated Sept. 26 and seen by The Post.
“I tweeted, I’ve emailed, I’ve done everything to try to get him to come,” said fifth-grade teacher Rosetta Langlois.

“The children have written to him over the years. He’s a role model. Our boys need his motivation so badly. Our boys and girls need him so badly.”

Obama had more important things to do. People with money were waiting to see him.

That school must be in a really lower income area for him to not visit .
Maybe after he is removed from office and all his paying speaking gigs dry up .
Then he could find some time to visit , but by then all of the kids will be adults and the teachers retired .

There are no lower income areas on Long Island.

The sequestration requires CDC to cut 5 percent or more than $285 million of its fiscal year (FY) 2013 budget. CDC applied the cut evenly across all programs, projects, and activities (PPAs), which are primarily CDC national centers, offices and centers. This means every area of CDC was affected. In addition, the Prevention and Public Health Fund allocation in FY2013 was almost $350 million below FY 2012.
The reductions to CDC’s funding accounts are as follows:

Immunization = $100million

HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STI and TB Prevention =$62 million

Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases =$13 million

Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion =$195 million

Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities =$7 millionhttp://www.cdc.gov/...

Another Democratic Lie… GOP Gave CDC More Money Than Obama Requested
According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, in January the CDC won in the budget deal. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will see an 8.2 percent budget increase for fiscal 2014, thanks to a $1.1 trillion spending bill announced by Congress Jan. 13. But not just that. There was also this nugget of news: This influx of cash will raise the CDC budget to $6.9 billion, which is $567 million more than it received in 2013. This is more than the agency anticipated, because the president’s fiscal year 2014 budget request for it was just $6.6 billion.”
