AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Employees at several Austin businesses have found stickers saying "exclusively for white people" placed on their windows, sparking an investigation into their origin and condemnation from the mayor.
Mayor Steve Adler said the stickers discovered Wednesday morning were "an appalling and offensive display of ignorance in our city."
The stickers also say "Maximum of 5 colored customers / colored BOH staff accepted," apparently referring to the "back of house" operations at a restaurant. They featured a city of Austin logo and claimed to be "sponsored by the City of Austin Contemporary Partition and Restoration Program," though no such program exists. The city has said the use of its logo was unauthorized.

Don't always need to be 21 to get into a bar, especially in college towns. 18 to enter, 21 to drink.

It was 21 there and he is only 20. College towns very frequently card at the door to screen out the under age drinkers.

In my experience bars in college towns make a butt load of money from underage drinkers. Either way it's beside the point.
The ABC officer was most likely on a power trip because the kid smarted off to him or something like that. Pretty basic case of excessive force.

Possibly but again we don't know the whole story. And college towns are usually watched very closely by authorities about under age drinking. It definitely occurs at almost epidemic levels but that is why the bars have to be as careful as possible. If the bar gets busted too many times for violations they lose their license.
Since "WHEN" in America does that constitute a beating???
How many college students that night had fake ID's and tried to get into a bar in that town? How many of them were beaten to the point of having a bloody face?
Why didnt the police "charge" him with having a false ID?
Why is there NO MENTION of a false ID given by the "bouncer" aka lunkhead who told him to step aside?
Its an IRISH bar, and in all likelyhood, this "bouncer" aka lunkhead simply wanted to deny him entry because he was black and believed he had the authority to do so.
The ABC officers had NO RATIONAL cause for making this incident physical to the point where the student had to struggle.
Bars and their "bouncers" do this all the time, believing they have to authority to make judgements on entry based solely on appearance.
Racism is alive and well in this country. Most of you on this board demonstrate that all the time. Super-racist is a prime example and leads the way by admission.
