Raise in new contract

Wontmake9.5

My job is fun
I'm being told we agreed to 4x penalty pay for 9.5 violations. Still takes 3 violations in a week. HARD NO from me.
No change on 8 hr requests. This is weak AF
8hrs are double time penalty at 2hrs.

I will say the losing senoritu part is bad. But I also can’t think of someone who would do 3 days no call no show in this day and age unless you really don’t want your job

I heard on the call that 8 hour requests will be double time and something about letting them know by 1 PM if you will be over

Still how can they put that in the contract and not call it a concession? It hurts our members.

I don't see how SOB can run on putting an end to forced overtime and then agree to this BS. This language won't stop a damn thing
Over 60 hours is optional now.
More money for 9.5 violations.
More money for 8 hour request. These are wins.

If we get rid of the 22.4 language they can’t use that force in seniority order language against us anymore, that will end forced 6th punch in the southern at least.

It’s what the company decides to do at the end of the day. We’re making it more expensive to work us excessively.

I don’t know what that language is you’re talking about and it sounds ridiculous. If you don’t get fired, you don’t lose your seniority who the hell would want to work here and lose their seniority? That’s a pretty big punishment.
It’s really all we have here…seniority.

These are not wins. UPS has 0 problem with paying grievances. Nothing will change with this language.

Over 60 in 5 days is illegal already
Paying an extra $50 in penalty pay is not going to stop or slow down the constant over dispatch. Nothing is better for drivers with this language other than a few extra dollars on your check after taxes

Not sure why they didn’t try to get us language that we can just bring the truck in to make 8 hour requests.
I already have a local agreement that we can do that locally instead of receiving any penalty, which is pretty much worthless if you need to be off in eight hours.

I don't know man, you no call no show three days, I don't want my loop next to yours. Eff dat hombre. Accountability is lacking nowadays. Losing seniority is harsh...but IMO 3 no call no shows should be a termination. 🤷

Pipe dream, you’re not getting $50 until possibly year five of the next contract.
You can tell me I’m not getting whatever but I will walk august 1 and we’ll see who gets what. Grow a pair please. Ups doubled their profits and you want the same raises? Are you management? O’Brien said no concessions. Sorry but what you are describing is a concession.
