I think you are already “your own disciple”, you just choose to filter your rationalization through Christianity. You’re gonna do what you adapted to do until you pay some prices and have to readapt to the trauma. Hopefully you had a good upbringing and don’t have to pay some heavy prices to be put on the same page as the rest of society.
You can think what you want.

If I were to smoke weed stay home and play video games all day then obviously God isn't the priority in my life. I agree.
So smoking weed, drinking, are subjective issues.
Some will be lost because they did, some will be in heaven even though they did.
On judgment calls, just because it may be a judgment call, doesn’t mean you can’t make the wrong judgment. Your thinking changes as you mature and grow in scripture. If it doesn’t, you’re not doing what God has required of you.
Some things that used to be subjective in my thinking are absolutes now. It would be an absolute sin for me to smoke weed or drink.
You? Maybe not yet. Or maybe.

I see what you're saying and I agree. I think that is a very eloquent way to put it.

Would you say that, maybe for some people, it would be sinful to them to use caffeine?

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

How far you want to go with it? Which cup of coffee puts you past the line of sin? How many bites of the blackberry cobbler puts you into the gluttony zone? Which toke will it be that puts your marijuana use sinful?
“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” - Paul
Subjective issues.
Absolutes have no degrees. You either do them or you don’t.

So yes. Some caffeine addicts put caffeine before their duty to the Lord. I think that we can agree if we put anything before our duty to the Lord then whatever it is, it would be sinful.
