Jesus said "The poor you have with you always." Jesus didn't go on and on about the injustice of it all. We're taught to look after widows and orphans. A Christian doesn't let someone starve. But we aren't required to support others by giving away everything we have or taking away everything someone else has. Please quote the verses that tell you to go protest against the government, against the rich.@vantexan

See, he "paraphrases." Jesus was given an expensive ointment. Some of his disciples wanted to sell the ointment and give the proceeds to the poor. Jesus told them that the poor would always be there, ointment or not. Didn't sell the ointment.View attachment 468849

Do you know how we lift someone out of poverty? Give them a decent job. You don't just throw money at them. And decent job doesn't mean that they can now afford everything they want. Want a car but job only pays so much? Work overtime. Get a second job. No one is owed a luxurious lifestyle or even a middle class lifestyle. You want it, you earn it. If the company you work for can pay better but won't then start a union. If the company absolutely can't pay better then either work your way up into better paying positions or leave for a better job elsewhere. You aren't owed a great lifestyle doing minimal work. You have to earn it.
This is what most of these guys have against you Ricky. They busted their ass for decades to have everything they have. You don't want to do that. You want high pay for as little work as possible and you want to tell the owners how to run their company. You have this mindset and think you're going to convince everyone that they too can have all they want if it just wasn't for those greedy business owners. You waste your life pursuing fantasies.
My brother and his wife are college educated liberals. Had a discussion with them recently where they were ranting against greedy corporations. Could hardly get a word in edgewise but when I started talking about stocks, fiduciary responsibilities, etc it was very clear very fast that they had no clue about how corporations work and why. They wanted to change the subject very quickly. It's what is typical today. They want what they want and the greedy corporations better give it to them or they're going to bring the whole system down. Can't get it through their heads that capitalism has lifted more out of poverty than any system in history. They, and you, buy into this idea that everyone can have equal outcomes and we'll all live well with minimal effort. Doesn't work that way and never has.

Jesus was not a capitalist
You misunderstand the bible
Jesus would not approve of capitalism bc having bosses leads to satanic abuses of power. we need to be like italy
The stock market is mostly owned by 1%
the business owners have it all bc we are so poor. we do not own our labour, we tent ourselves at an hourly wage
In denmark mcdonalds workers make over 20 per hour
You think bosses only exist under capitalism?Jesus was not a capitalist

What you're quoting is from someone who twists everything he sees in life if it doesn't lead to the economic system he believes is fair and just. There's nothing fair and just about economic systems that don't work. You think you have it bad but having to work for your pay is nothing compared to literally having not much more than the clothes you wear, standing in line for hours to get one portion of cheese, stealing fuel to distill for its alcohol so that you can drink yourself into a stupor to escape grinding poverty for a few hours. That was life in the Soviet Union for most of the population. And guess what? Those in power lived very well. You can't get away from humans exploiting others for their own gain.@DriveInDriveOut

Have you looked at the cost of living in Denmark?
And Denmark has a grand total of 89 McDonalds and are doing high volume which allows them to pay better. McDonald's in the U.S. has millions of employees working for mostly franchisees. The McDonald's Corporation has about 150,000 employees. Their profits come from mainly jacking up the prices their franchisees pay them. This puts the franchisees in the position of if they pay too much their business model collapses. It's not a straight comparison between the U.S. and Denmark. Bet you won't hear this in socialist circles.Denmark vs US: Cost of Living, Salary & Prices comparison
The average cost of living in Denmark ($2020) is 18% less expensive than in the United States ($2454). Denmark ranked 17th vs 10th for the United States in the list of the most expensive countries in the world. The average after-tax salary is enough to cover living expenses for 1.9 months in...livingcost.org
