Actually $35 and some change by the time I get top pay.

The pay step before top rate is around $21, which is where I am (on 3 year progression from previous contact). On the new contract's 4 year progression, the step before top rate is around $25.

You're on point I believe I have 2 years left before the top rate hits. As for pay its different from state to state. Here cover driving or full time for the 1st 4 yrs starts at $29 here
