Termination

Business agents don’t investigate on sight. They are not detectives. The company would’ve supplied any evidence at the business agents request.

If it was only hearsay, no panel would uphold that.

There’s more to the story. Maybe an untimely grievance?
Grievance filed immediately after termination letter received. Hearing 13 days after. Request for hearing at a higher level 7 days after decision made at hearing. Hearing panel was 3 people. BA and steward said accuser would not allow an investigation. Accuser a very large business so likely big $ for UPS. Employer delivering there for YEARS.
I know it makes everyone feels more safe to ignore that this was likely a blatant disregard of the rules set forth by both UPS and the union by saying there was more. And maybe there was but maybe not. Just watch your backs. Anything can be seen as an egregious cardinal offense and anyone can be fired based off of hearsay and past offenses that exceed the time limit UPS has set forth. Employees time is done and will move forward BUT fair warning to all of you. Thanks for your help and insight all. Stay safe out there.

ups had tiered wages when i was there which hte union foolishly agreed to, which incentivizes ups to fire higher paid employees.

Nope, most top scale full-time employees are here many decades. a large portion of them retire from here. Pretty difficult to get fired here unless you’re a complete tool.
