I am in the west but what does rider mean? What supplement/ rider are you under?
I am in the west but what does rider mean?
Okay well how do I know which one I am?A rider is an addendum to a contract.
Okay well how do I know which one I am?
I am local 690. I have read everywhere in this contract and do not see anything that could help me in my situation.
That's what I have been reading. Under utility drivers section all it says is use of utility drivers and pay for utility drivers will be located in the riders which is attached to this. I don't see anything that is attached to it. I have read the whole thing. Seniority section does not say anything that would be helpful to me if I filed either

Thank you for taking the time to look that up but I do not see anything in there that makes a claim for seniority trumps route knowledgeArticle IX, section friend:
A utility driver may be assigned by seniority to vacation coverage.
These vacation cover utility drivers would be released from their
inside position when assigned to a center for vacation cover and
scheduled on a weekly basis provided work is available, and shall
have rights to return to their previous position when this duty is
ended. A utility driver assigned by seniority to vacation coverage
during May 1st through September 30th would be released from
their inside position when assigned to a center for vacation cover
and scheduled on a monthly basis provided work is available, and
shall have rights to return to their previous position when this duty
is ended
Do you see any mention of "route knowledge" at all?Thank you for taking the time to look that up but I do not see anything in there that makes a claim for seniority trumps route knowledge

Absolutely go to your steward first, he might get this resolved without you even having to your supervisor about it.Okay so I don't want my sup and coworkers to dislike me so would it be best for me to show this info first to my sup in private? Or should I show it first to my union steward and have him make my sup aware of the situation?
