That seems to defeat the purpose ... IMO.


Saves the cost of buying a $10,000 coffin and cement burial vault only to cover it up with dirt. You can put your loved ones ashes in a small wood box or whatever you choose-dig the hole yourself and bury them. I know---I've done it myself 4 times with my Mom, my Dad, my Brother and my Son. My Brother had specified we burry his ashes in something unique so being he was a "collector" he is buried in a 1950's Hop-a-long Cassidy lunch pail.

Not around here. The cemetery where my family plot is only requires that the hole must be at least 3 feet deep for cremated remains to be buried---and ANYONE can dig it.
