Personally, I am happy to pay my taxes. I get more benefits than I could pay for on my own.

Being retired, debt free, and not investing in losing propositions, I always pay, quarterly.

Well worth it.

Most years it's refund Fed & pay State .
This year it was refunds from both were close to 10K.
And I know I'll have to report some of it as income for next year, but it was nice to see.

In California you can't get plastic grocery bags in many stores unless you pay for them due to saving the environment. Not sure how that is working but this method apparently adds more plastic.
