Tentative agreement

If we also have to swallow 70 hour weeks, Hybrid drivers, no stiffening of 9.5 protection, failing pensions, continued "dishonesty" terminations, and declining healthcare...Big fat NO vote.
Absolutely agree on the bogus dishonesty “terminations” and I want to add all of the “bull sht method “violations” that guys are getting written up on... ups and their buss:censored2: 100,000 methods per day to deliver a :censored2:ing box to the door... wtf??? It’s a big NO vote from me at this point.... total Hoffa fail agaic....

I'm confused in general. I'm following seniority brothers and voting no. But what is 4.15 over 5 years? It clearly isnt progression totals so what is it? Inflation? Is that additional to the progression wages. This is my first contract. Idk wtf is going on.

So the union lines their pockets when at the end of this contract you are making 40.50 an hour. What type of skill do you have where you could quit today and make 40 an hour?

Does anyone start at UPS making $40/hr? Nah, so you're obvious attempt at selling this pile of dog :censored2: is already irrelevant....but just to entertain you, Do your homework. Around here, any labor union whether it's plumbers, carpenters, welders, whatever...all already top out at over $40/hr...most closer to $50. Sure, it takes years to get to that rate, but so does UPS.

Judge me.
For what it is, 13/ hour isn't gonna keep these kids on preload. Can still make more at Hardee's. And give them the fabulous option of driving for "up to 8 hours" on weekends at a lower rate. LMFAO what a joke

We have not recieved the full contract yet. Even if the contract seems OK for some, there are bound to be big surprises in the fine print.
Except that they usually put in the highlights and the "Oh wow, look at what we got for you guys, vote yes!" type crap in these briefings of the tentative agreement. So if the posters are up in arms over that stuff, you better believe that the rest is going to suck just as hard.

“I am confident that once the membership has reviewed and understood the changes, they will see that this agreement is among the very best ever negotiated for UPS members,” said Denis T, co-chairman of the Teamsters UPS National Negotiating committee.

See what I mean?

Once again I’ll tell you, you haven’t seen the whole contract. Once you see it all and make your judgment but your conscience.

Let's say a center has 70 full time drivers as of July 31, and they are red circled in under this forthcoming contract, setting aside the historical fact that the company are experts at hiding and moving jobs around so you don't know where they have gone ie.. 22.3, and other combo jobs, what the company/union has really done is drastically slowed down the creation of current top dollar driving jobs and put in place lesser paid driving jobs.

So, under the current contract, that center that has 70 full time drivers and is a center in an area that is growing would be predicted to hire 10-15 new top rate drivers this year but now under this new language would only create 3-4 new top rate driving jobs because now the company/Union can hire new lesser paid drivers to fill in the gap! That sounds about right! That doesn't sound like a great deal!

If ups can only afford $13 an hour now but can afford over $15 in 5 years what's gonna give in those 5 years?

Firing a bunch of full scale drivers and replacing them with 22.4? Automating tons of hubs and centers so that part time workforce numbers go way down?

There's a reason they are willing to up the starting pay over 5 years as much as they have in like the previous 30.

I'll say it again. This is garbage and I hope the whole contract goes down in flames.

Don't tell me about "red circle" FT driver jobs. Yes everyone understands that the same number of fulltime drivers will be there. Where are the new FT driver jobs? Oh wait there will be NONE! The company will only replace them when one leaves. That's horse :censored2:.

Routes will be dissolved. People that want OT will not get any. Cover Drivers will be sent back to the building to load or be forced to become these new FT drivers. It's all garbage!

Big VOTE NO! Your wait for the "details" are not going to change much.
