I only have three aquatints who make less than me. One does my taxes. He can't believe I'm make over 100gr.
Less than you or more than you? Which post is correct? You make more or less than lawyers? I'm kinda confused about which of your statements you mean.
Compared to anyone in the industry we are the Major League Baseball of the trucking industry. Fed ex is japan the rest is minor leagues. We are compensated as the best. And we still are. I make more than lawyers and my benefits make them look like they should have tried for my job instead of theirs.
No wonder you're a sheep. It might be a little difficult for you to fill out job applications if you lost this one? :)
Welcome to enhanced TeamCare, Thx to the southern part of Ohio.

On the contrary. I said was it set in stone? No. But it's being hammered out. It was even on the news multiple times.
Here #6 dwarf:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...tive-strike-on-union-subsidies-for-obamacare/

And if you have a hard time with comprehension: "But reports have surfaced on a plan that would give union workers -- and only union workers -- subsidies to help pay for health insurance even if they're covered through their job. The purported "carve-out" could soothe the simmering discontent within Big Labor."

You really are the worst TDUer. Once again thank you for proving that my signature is true to you.

That was in September of last year. The Treasury Dept. has since issued a statement saying that this exemption would in fact be illegal & thus is no longer a possibility. Would have been good for you to have known that before your vote.

The majority of the minority decided the outcome. The reason given by so many that didn't vote: "It's rigged to pass anyway". I'm not saying there's total truth in that mindset but that's what we heard and it was from higher seniority members.
Truth be told, I bet the ones that didn't care to vote would of voted "yes", since the vote "no" folks were more motivated to vote. All the nonvoters wanted were their raises. I bet you that if everyone had to vote it would of passed by a large margin.

It seems we're just going in circles on this issue. It is creating ill will between members. Let's just give it a rest and keep our eyes moving to see what transpires (especially if you're from Ohio now). Stink is a pretty smart guy and if this turns out wrong we can't blame our fellow UPSers for what we don't like, even tho we feel that we lost a better plan than TeamCare.
If other region's members would have not been allowed to vote on our healthcare when it wasn't going to affect them the national wouldn't have passed.
Some are happy that they forced a lesser quality plan on other locals and they gloat over fools gold. I believe we should now devote our energies toward electing leaders that we feel represent us best in the future. If people lose faith that their voice/vote matters we'll be doomed to repeat the same mistakes again next time.
I say "Get involved but stay respectful".
This is just round one with many more to come. IMO
Stink isn't that smart. His faith that Teamcare would remain sustainable was predicated on the belief that there was a tax exemption out there just waiting for an OK from our president. As he just found out, his exemption, the one he specifically cited, is no longer a possibility and hasn't been since late last year according to the treasury department.

You guys need to stop posting "hints" about the real names of other members.

Also please report any posts where you see this being done so the mods can edit or delete as necessary.

Thank you.

I'll just do all the work for you.

The Walker-backed bill proposed taking away the ability of public sector unions to bargain collectively over pensions and health care and limiting pay raises of public employees to the rate of inflation, as well as ending automatic union dues collection by the state and requiring public unions to recertify annually.

You may have noticed that I prefer facts and evidence over bull:censored2: and hearsay. Hope that's not a problem.

As opposed to republicans who openly legislate for the reduction of bargaining rights and destruction of unions.
Republicans don't single out unions for special treatment. They support legislation that's good for union & non-union alike but doesn't favor one over the other, as it should be. Democrats successfully use that to divide workers & shoulder up to unions to get votes, but you see what happens when they are allowed to legislate. They take from your union healthcare earnings to redistribute as subsidies & without even saying sorry.

Google the word 'Wisconsin'. When you're done with that, google "Right to work map." Red states are right to work, blue states are not.
RTW is pro-worker, you've just been told that its not. In this contract its responsible in part for new hires getting their insurance sooner & the first raise in decades. The expansion of RTW states forced negotiators hand in that because they obviously weren't going to stand up for bottom rung union employees on their own. Also your map is missing a few states. If your going to do the research at least make sure its current.

On a more anecdotal note: My representative, the ever-so-wise (R) Sam Brownback of Kansas voted No in 2007 on H.R. 800 which provided for:

  1. To enable employees to form & join labor organizations, and to provide for mandatory injunctions for unfair labor practices during organizing efforts. Requires investigation that an employer:
    1. discharged or discriminated against an employee to discourage membership in a labor organization;
    2. threatened to discharge employees in the exercise of guaranteed collective bargaining rights; and
    3. adds to remedies for such violations: back pay plus liquidated damages; and additional civil penalties.
The measure did not pass, as Kansas is an overwhelmingly red state. Likewise, our schools are currently laying off teachers and shutting down programs because their funding was cut to provide for a tax-break for the "job-creators," that is to say, households making over $200,000 a year.

And @ Atomic_smurf RTW is RTW for less. Facts are the RTW workers make 10-30% less than non-RTW.

How could anyone think or say RTW is pro work? That is one of the most ridiculous statements. Wages are less, workplace injuries are higher, higher poverty and infant mortality, less investments in education, higher workplace deaths just to name a few. How could any person say its pro worker union or not.
