The Ballot mess!

Really, where is the exemption for union run health care plans? You said it was in place. Did you not say that?
It seems we're just going in circles on this issue. It is creating ill will between members. Let's just give it a rest and keep our eyes moving to see what transpires (especially if you're from Ohio now). Stink is a pretty smart guy and if this turns out wrong we can't blame our fellow UPSers for what we don't like, even tho we feel that we lost a better plan than TeamCare.
If other region's members would have not been allowed to vote on our healthcare when it wasn't going to affect them the national wouldn't have passed.
Some are happy that they forced a lesser quality plan on other locals and they gloat over fools gold. I believe we should now devote our energies toward electing leaders that we feel represent us best in the future. If people lose faith that their voice/vote matters we'll be doomed to repeat the same mistakes again next time.
I say "Get involved but stay respectful".
This is just round one with many more to come. IMO

It didn't have anything to do with you. What I said was "If you're dumb enough to believe your union vote was rigged to pass, with no evidence, you're a special kind of dumb and shouldn't be affecting change through election anyway." I can see today was an emotionally trying one for you. Go to bed and I'm sure you'll feel better in the morning.
I'm not upset or "emotionally tired" at all. I voted. I did my part and that's all I can do.
The rest of your post is your opinion and you're entitled to it. But, if we think we make a better point by being personally rude to others I can tell you that it dilutes the topic at hand and creates animosity.
All of us UPSers can have strong feelings and we normally do because that's the working conditions we face daily and I think it shapes even the most passive employee into a more aggressive mindset but we need to move forward and forget about dead arguments now. Have a good night.

Everyone in Ohio benefited from the vote noers. How u ask? After the first time the contract went down. Teamcare was enhanced. The second time, additional language was added to the Rider giving us some protection against excessive warning letters. Our fight benefited all members. The yes vote benefited no one. No additional rights were given by voting yes, absolutely none. So people say welcome to Teamcare. I say welcome to another year of progression for part timers, no protection from harrasment, paying for your benefits, single day vacation coverage reducing even more full time jobs for part timers, increased retirement health insurance cost and continued 17i abuse, just to name a few. 407, try being loyal to yourself and not people who want you to accept a contract full of give backs and concessions. We deserved way more than we got in this contract and believe me starting to pay a deductible before you can even use your benefits only reduces your pay in the end. In addition giving the company a defined benefit whereas our g.w.I. can be taken to pay for additional health care cost is opening up a can of worms that we all will suffer from in the future. If refusing to be part of all the said concessions and give backs makes me disloyal. The you can consider me the most DISLOYAL son of a gun you have ever heard of. Oh, and we lost a battle but the war is not over....

It's about fair market value.
I hear the same BS in regards to pro athletes.
There is no better example of a strong union than that of any of the major pro athletes unions.
While their salaries may be viewed as obscene, they are getting their fair share of the spoils.
Why should the owners get a disproportionate share of the revenue in the presence of a collective bargaining agreement.
The union has an obligation to its members to get them their fair share and the court of public opinion will acquiesce in the face of a viable service or product.
Don't be ashamed to demand your just deserts.
Compared to anyone in the industry we are the Major League Baseball of the trucking industry. Fed ex is japan the rest is minor leagues. We are compensated as the best. And we still are. I make more than lawyers and my benefits make them look like they should have tried for my job instead of theirs.

You benefited my local by making us look like stars that came in and saved the day. Thanks

All my friends that are lawyers have a base pay of $175-$200 per hour and that is the bottom of the industry's pay scale.
They don't work near as hard as I do and none of them have knees replaced.

That's a matter of perspective.
In the end, the handful of people who view you as stars will likely be far outnumbered by hoards of underinsured UPS workers.
Actually, I may have forgotten about a significant number of UPS stockholders that are going to definitely view you as stars also.

If you disagree Bubblehead why did you send me a text saying saying we win the whole thing. You must be hurting. I'm so sorry you are hurtin.
I congratulated you in the wake of your victory.
It's called being gracious in defeat.
I wasn't fighting for a no vote for the sport of it.
We believed it to be righteous and that hasn't changed.
So if your looking for a thank you, or for me to kiss your ring, it ain't going to happen.
