Out of the game for a while. Any recommendations for a kids set up, looking to do some panfishing on a small pond. Preferably no live bait, so lure recommendations too, not looking for trophy fish, more quantity.

Go light. Lightweight rod and reel with nothing heavier than six pound test line. Use a small float about about 14-18" above hook.
