Nah, this is a thing amongst Republicans in Congress who are pretending that merely being a Democrat or working for Democrats or contributing to Democratic candidates is controversial and means you can't investigate republicans and is cause to discredit Mueller and the investigation.

When you find out that members of Mueller's team openly spoke of their support of Hillary and disdain for Trump in emails, or were connected to the infamous dossier, and since day one holdovers from the previous administration have been working to subvert his presidency, as have most of the media, it certainly casts doubt on the impartiality of any investigation run by Democrats.

No I've seen and read elected republicans in Congress make the argument that if some has donated to Democrats or worked with Democratic candidates that taints them to investigate republicans.
