My guess is you’ve never been thrown out of anywhere because you’re gay. If you’ve been thrown out of anywhere, it’s because of your behavior. Same as anyone else.

You don’t hear me complaining that there’s no provision for fat people to go wherever they want without being thrown out! How about airlines charging for two seats because of my fat ass? 😂
you said there were no inequalities asked him to show you the inequality and he showed you then you said “well it’s probably never happened to you though!”

Still concerning it’s possible, I didn’t know gay people didn’t have that protection until now. That’s messed up

As a supporter of gay rights I'd like to know how gay people are denied the most basic equality as citizens.
I’ve posted it multiple times in this thread. Not all civil rights apply to gays on a federal level and are tossed to states on a state level.
That is inequality if someone asks how gays are not treated equally in this country.
Which ones?
There is no federal law that bans discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in public accommodations, like restaurants, theaters and other businesses. However, state and local laws where you live may ban this kind of discrimination.

This would be an example of discrimination based on gender identity in public accommodations in your opinion, right?

"Jessica Yaniv, 32, complained she had been refused ‘Brazilian’ waxing services at more than a dozen salons in Canada since 2018.

She brought legal proceedings against five home-based female estheticians – waxing experts – who would not perform the treatment on her scrotum.

Yaniv is a male to female transgender woman who has not yet had sex-reassignment surgery, which means she has male genitalia.

She claimed the women were discriminating against her "based on gender identity and gender expression"."

It’s an inequality that everyone faces it’s not something just gays have. Private property is still a thing.

I don’t have any civil rights to go in a gay bar and not be thrown out.

Believe that would fall under local and state laws, not federal protection for public accommodation.

Not sure the specifics of which businesses get this treatment or not.

Am I protected from discrimination in public accommodations, like shops and restaurants?

Your rights

There is no federal law that bans discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in public accommodations, like restaurants, theaters and other businesses. However, state and local laws where you live may ban this kind of discrimination.

I have posted this exact passage multiple times in this thread, you people ignore it and keep moving in circles pretending the civil rights are equal in this country.

Do you believe Jessica Yaniv was discriminated against based on gender identity?

“The female beauticians argued they were not trained to perform a ‘Brazilian’ on male genitalia and could have caused serious injury to the customer.”

Seems reasonable to me.

That’s a pretty extreme case lol

If I was in a restaurant for example and for some weird reason, although I’ve never seen it happen, the owner of the restaurant decided to throw people out because they were gay. I would also be leaving that restaurant myself.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

But he’s saying it’s not for everyone. You can’t throw someone out for being Christian, which is his point

His point is he hates Christians. They can’t do that to any religion Muslim Jews. Sikh etc. etc. it’s constitutionally protected.. neither him nor I are constitutionally protected just for being straight or gay.

Indeed. So it's probably a good idea to be clear on what we're actually talking about when we're discussing discrimination based on gender identity. I also think it's a mistake for anyone to be conflating being gay with being trans. They're not the same thing. People who support trans insanity probably tie the two together as if they're inextricably linked because they know like myself support gay rights and might just go along with the trans insanity too.

No I think that woman has every right to say she doesn’t want to deal with those types of genitals.
But IF it is the law she has to as a business providing public services she should hire someone who doesn’t mind and can cover that nonsense for her.
