I currently have 2 Stihls, 2 Homelites and a Poulan in my garage. One of the Stihls is not mine. Another Homelite is dismantled for parts now under my bench.

Ignition may be weak. Probably needs new points and some carb tweaking.

Not my hand....not my saw. This is the one I am currently struggling with to make run. Hard to fix an obsolete carb with corrosion issues.

Just got in a used Walbro HDC off eBay for parts to fix that little Stihl. Just need the circuit plate out of it. New ones are not available.

I bout one just like this new when I retired. I've cut up hundreds of big trees with it and it hasn't missed a beat. New chains and a new bar is all I've ever done.

My son had a Husqvarna string trimmer he was going to toss out because the gas basically dissolved the fuel lines.

Five bucks and about an hour's work, and I had a perfectly serviceable trimmer.

Usually it gums up the carb is the problem.

Once I replaced the hoses and put fresh mix in it, it started first pull.

Ethanol will petrify fuel lines and carb diaphragms. Do not use it on small engines unless the manual says you can. There are even warnings given at checkout for new saws in some large stores.
