No, But I do not believe laws alone stop people from doing it.

Addiction is a human issue. It also doesn’t just have to be drugs. Like I said, we are rarely able to do anything even things that would seemingly be not bad to do occasionally in moderation.

heroin absolutely can be used safely in moderation. It’s derivatives are used in hospital settings and prescribed by doctors all the time

Of course lots of people end up abusing those pain killers, but most don’t. Most people take their pain killers and stop when they’re out. Doesn’t mean we should ban all pain killers also

But lots of people are not getting prescribed “necessary” painkillers now, because the pendulum has swung the other way, after being over prescribed in the past

I personally wouldn’t use it, but I don’t drink alcohol either. But I don’t think alcohol should be illegal and people shouldn’t use it. Lots of people use alcohol in moderation, safely

Alcohol may even be harder on the body than heroin. Heroin is more euphoric and addictive though, and much more risky since it is illegal and possibly tainted with fentanyl

You say the vast majority can handle it I would say the vast majority don’t handle it very well, maybe some small minority does

I’d say the majority of drinkers don’t let if affect their lives or the ones around them

Now granted alcohol is considered not safe at any level physically speaking, but I’m just taking about them being addicts or ruining their lives

I would say the majority of people who drink, do so at the end of the day after their work is done, and still take care of their families

I appreciate you sharing your opinions on this though, especially being able to do so logically and respectfully even with your personal experience with your dad

I know it’s not completely related, but I think it was Ted bundy who said porn was fueling his killing sprees and groups of people were using that and saying it should be illegal and was the trigger of him becoming a serial killer. Fact is most people go home, look at some boobs and jerk off. Some people become obsessed and get addicted, others go down more and more sick paths chasing the extreme and let it take over their lives and ruin their sex life. I still think I should be able to look at a picture or video of some boobs though, even though some people can’t handle it, and others don’t agree with it morally
