Ok, do some homework and try to find a supplement that got us all that we got this time: minimum 150 new FT jobs, the $400 pension increase, huge monies coming into our H/W Fund, much improved layoff language, expanded Election Day triple time day to use at member's choice, etc.
As for the pension, the only thing holding up the increase was RATIFICATION which we just did. I guess will be the only person still believing the pension increase is a fake. The General Membership Meeting is the 13th...the Pension Funds Meeting in on the 15th.

The new 150 jobs? Those are really old jobs that your replacing! We have been asking you to fight for our 22.3 jobs for two years that haven't been replaced!! So hog wash job creation!! The 400.00 I give you for now! But remember it is a benefit! And just like the 25 and out can be cut because our pension is underfunded bye ppa standards! Huge money in H/w? your reaching! That's the average and as others have stated part timers have better coverage!

On H/W, we did get huge monies..way above average. Other locals got $1. We got the $1 (minus the .15 cents) plus we continue to get the $1.75. SO while other locals got only $1....we get $2.60!!
In some ways the part timers do have better coverage (lesser copays) but not so in other ways. Plus things do change for them in the last year of this contract, so...

Not gonna happen, have news for you if you and your cucumber have aspirations of running in next election.Dont bother!!! Last election members were not willing to go backwards to elect a slate that had a member of previous board on it.Now that current board has nailed down a pension increase for our members,a pension increase that is way overdue and has been ignored for years. It will not be worth the trip to the Mens Wearhouse again.Members eyes have been opened !!! It is time to move forward, and i have news for you you talk of lies with current board, members have been lied to for years before this slate came into office, as everything financially important to the members was mismanaged by previous board so spare us with the lies comment.

Why should this concern you...put in your papers and RETIRE...then get a life outside of this

I dont believe i asked for your advice on when to put in my papers in,and as far as my concern about who goes in the hall it will always be a concern whether i am working or retired. We dont need another executive board mismanaging our pension and medical telling us everything is fine, when the truth is that it is being run into the ground.Future retirees deserve a local that is willing to negotiate pension increases for future supplements, not ignore our pension for years and give answers that a pension increase is not possible.

For those of you who are not part of Local 804, we had our General Membership Meeting today. It was reported that our pension fund has $911,000,000 in it. When our current board took over in Jan 2010, there was about $650,000,000. It was also reported that 3000 members voted on this latest supplement...the most ever.
There was also talk of diverting some of our raises into increasing our pensions even more. The board has to run the numbers past the actuaries to see what is doable and if it is even wise.
Plus a run down on different things going on in the buildings.
President Sylvester's basic message was: the supplement has passed...we no longer have a funds problem...we have a shorter docket problem (less arbitrations)...no contract negotiations ...no elections for a few years...time for solidarity and getting "back to basics" . He wants us all to work together and stand together against management and stop making side deals that undermines our power. Our E/B has plans on doing individual building training seminar to educate the membership on their rights and how to enforce the contract on the front lines. Especially since we now have lots of part timers who learned that by taking the time to vote, they can certainly MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD and MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I saw a lot more part timers at this meeting. Way more than usual. What I didnt see was "tomdelay," "bigD", "had enough", or "member6045" have the stones to come to the mic and say the outrageous things they say on this forum. That is because they are not leaders. They are not even well minded activists. They are only old guard sore losers whose time has come and gone!!

650 million? Lie!!! How about 800 million!!! Just because you say it doesn't make it the truth!!! If you actually made that much money in that period you would have constantly made returns to 10% or better each year! As far as coming to the mic? For what!! Time will tell! I stand bye All that I have said! Whether it be driven bye my feeling at that moment or true facts! The best interest of the membership is alway my priority. I hope all future retirees the best! I thank you for all you have done for this local enjoy you retirement and good luck retirees of 2014.

Who's going to train the stewards? They dont even know the contract themselves! Besides they are in the company's pocket!

100% agree! Even senior members - the only time they file supervisor working grievances is when they are having their personal issue with a supervisor(s). Even senior members I heard telling junior members to better get on their Q's and learn the dok fluently because management loves to fire people during peak, in an essence - he's telling them to take managements crap. There was this one time this supervisor tested two members with the dok right in front of a shop steward and told the two workers that they better know the dok 100% by next week or else they will get fired. Guess what? Shop steward didn't even look like he cared. This shop steward typically is out 5 days every month, I know damn well there are some back scratching going on between him and management.

Well, there are some shop stewards that Go Along To Get Along. They get too comfortable with management. Those types should be replaced by stewards who want to protect the members. I bet they dont even go to stewards meetings either. That is why the stewards need better training

Timmy said during the general membership meeting yesterday that he is not going to pay the stewards who aren't present for at least two meetings a year.

Timmy said during the general membership meeting yesterday that he is not going to pay the stewards who aren't present for at least two meetings a year. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Spare us your sarcastic B/S and enlighten us why this was not a good meeting.Maybe you dont like good news , because your not used to hearing it i guess, or ohhh!! maybe its like one of the other idiots on here stated they are lying about the figures. As far as the statement Tim made about the stewards, damn right the stewards are paid by the members dues to work for the local and our members. If a steward is not interested in working for our local why is he there to begin with.He is not self employed. Our dues are not paying him to divide the membership for his own personal agenda. If we are going to have a successful local we need unity not division.Stop the crying about old slate stop the crying about the election its over, this is our local no matter who is wearing suits. Its time to move forward and work together for the good of our members.

Yeah, it was awesome (sarcasm).

I hear you giving news clips of general membership meeting! I guess your only giving best stories to talk about? Here's the rest of meeting. All raises are still on hold! Including pension increase! Pension will be retroactive for all members who leave in January! Tim believes contract won't be settled before March, April!

You are the true definition of a J/O ,let me see in your twisted mind somehow this is Tim and the locals fault correct. It is what it is if others locals supplements are not ratified.Like you said yourself pension raise will be retro correct, is that what you call bad news, a pension raise that has been ignored for years.Pension raise in January or pension raise in March with retro is that still a pension raise genius correct. How about the the financial reports on our medical and our pension they were lying about those figures right what a joke.Like i stated earlier good meeting with good news, all good stories and nothing left out.

Since you brought it up! It was said that when fund was taking over there was only 600 million in? And now there is 900 million! Let's not lie to members every chance you get! It was 819 million! You claiming investments that you never made!!! Btw? Have you changed any of your investments? How are they working out for us!! Oh ya! Hot breath! I never said it was Tim fault! But thanks for putting light too it!
