Isn't that where one of the CEO 's started...
I spent a lot of time at IIMorrow so it clicked ... however, it wasn't IIMorrow which is in Salem, OR.
Scott Davis was the CAO there.

The actual name was Velleb which is Bellvue spelled backwards ... sort of.
They developed a prototype for Worldship (called UPS Professional) from which knowledge and technical requirements were derived.

You say "Scoot"? Like brown scoots from taco bell?

What's the real reason they can't put on more routes, get people in at a decent time? How many guys have to work here for 15 years, only to end up divorced, with weekend visits from kid? Everyone handles stress different, obviously this guy snapped, but you can't be so obtuse to think this is a surprise. Praying for victims and anyone who has to walk back through that gate to go back to work.

I would speculate we promise too much to the investors.

Anyone would be happy if the stock prices climb at a gradual rate, but quit baiting these people with high expectations then crunch to try to make them.

Project very small gains, and that will work, stop being greedy.

It was great until we went public. Sure....we make money, but we always have. 200+ stops that's not even a 9.5 plan....gimme a freaking break.....go lie to someone else.

UPS can't get rid of employees they don't like* ... that's what other companies are doing!
* Well, not Union employees, but definitely management.
* You know, I've been involved with management separation, and other than the cardinal sins (theft, violence, harassment, verifiable integrity), it was always pretty difficult. You couldn't just let people go on the spot because you didn't like them.

Fair play for the way management treats us

There's something about tragedies that makes people momentarily decent. We called drivers off the road on 9/11 and none of that nonsense happened.

It was a Tuesday and people didn't start acting like jerks again until early Friday.

I don't think times were that different, because just that morning, our Boston-bred district manager was talking to my DM about his stops per "cah".

Good thing, or I would have been fired 10 or 15 times

I'm going to derail here to make a parallel point.

Recently the verbiage in our "Agreement" changed. We used to be charged a considerable amount for "at fault" accidents. Now we are charged for "preventable" accidents. In explaining this, management pointed out that sometimes we do things to cause others to hit us. Yes. That is exactly what he said.

With that in mind and considering UPS management and the pressure they are under, while UPS is not at fault, could it be seen as "preventable"?

Oh, you mean when someone in front of you gets cut off, slams on their brakes, then you take a split second to react and not hit the person in front of you.

Then get ridiculed for being rear-ended because you didn't warn the person behind you that you were stopping abruptly?

Like turn on your 4 ways or tap your brakes?

Because you have ALL the time in the world for this?

True story...wasn't me, but happened in our bldg.

Literally had to go upstairs to be heard because the driver was given a warning letter at the center level.

Makes me angry thinking about it.

So, who releases the video from security cameras??

I mean, it is silicon valley...

We have camera's all over our building... 3 directed at the PCM gathering area. Ours looks like the top of the key in basketball, and the center manager is always shouting "get to the line"

RIP
