I thought this was a discussion about virtual time study, not OJS.Nah, scan at the truck when you start walking to get the walk time. If you scan then stop complete right at the delivery point the stop time would look shorter and it would look like travel/package selection time which is "coachable" and improvable.
The bottom line is you get an allowance for package selection based on averages for all drivers to perform that function. It doesn't matter what an individual driver does. It is the same for the time you are given for a walk.
The most important thing to do is to properly identify the distance from the truck that the delivery point is by stop completing at the delivery point.
Since UPS tries to fire people for not following their methods there is no choice but to follow them also.
