Damn guys, I'm sorry the vast majority of you have had such astical experiences with management.
Hell, I'm facing a very long and angry call in the AM because I refuse to give my PVD more hours than my newest FT'er.
I told the PVDs that due to low volume at the moment, I can't guarantee them an 8 hour day like they were promised. So I get my drivers over 8 and whatever is left is for the PVD's, at pay actual.
I love my drivers and will always go to bat for them. I've had plenty of chances to play dumb and throw the blame their way but that is some cowardly and has no place in our center.

I feel for ya guys, I really do. :\

Nope ... RTW state and I was leaving UPS in a year if I was not promoted into Management so I did not join the Union.

Luckily for me I was promoted ... not sure it was lucky for UPS!

-When they say, “we are going to train someone on this route today (minus 40 stops, 30 miles.) your doing this one despite your seniority.
-when they preach safety with a ridiculous dispatch of 220 stops 3 days in a row during a 94° heat wave.
-when they preach safety and tell us we have to work during a polar vortex with -35°; frostbite occurring in less than 2 minutes of skin exposure?!
-when they talk about appearance standards yet, they fail to fix the car wash after like 4-6 months of being broken.
-when your bonus no longer exists.
-when they don’t plan on working you because your hours are limited, they make you come to work, then send you home. No common courtesy.
-they talk about stealing time, on the contrary; how many deliveries have they made all year? How much work do they get done that actually MATTERS?

I just handed a PDS his ass today for giving a PVD, on their second day, more work than a 23 year driver. A driver I can't really stand but anyone that has put up with our BS for that long deserves respect.
Driver pretty much built his route over the years. It's the most extended route in that center. A lot of nuances to running it, to be honest. The driver has run pretty much straight 10 hr days for the last 3 years and he loves it.
So instead of pulling work from multiple routes to give to the PVD, nah, he gives away 5+hours, over %50 change in route. Just...dumb.
