50 pound limit back when I started in 1971. Also no more than 100 pounds could be shipped from the sames shipper tp the same consignee in one day.. Also 108 inch length + girth max. That was back when men were men------------:-)

I believe UPS had limitations on the amount of weight they could deliver to one place or a certain size because then it would have been labeled as freight.

Never bought my own handtruck
When they were making the diad 6
sat down and thought of all the ways that could make the job much more efficient and simple for the delivery driver In order to make his/her day smooth as possible…………

And then they threw all that out and did the exact opposite
It’s actually based off the software that PVDs use. My thought is that the company was trying their best to prepare for a strike by having software that could be downloaded for off the street scabbies to come and try to deliver with.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
I qualified on paper.

Back when.... "the men were men.... and so were the women."

Even the "others" complain now.
Yeah, I started on paper too. Oh how the old timers cried when we went to Diad 1! After a few months, oh how they cried when they had to use paper when the diad went down! Lol.

Yeah bring it on because it works so great for them, We lost half of our PVDs before the middle of December last year

Old paper records were simpler and faster. UPS never claimed DIAD 1 was faster. Only "just as fast". Plus you have to remember paper records were different before they changed to mimic 1Z labels.

I remember the first DIAD the signature pad wore out after like two weeks. Anytime anyone signed it would just put a black splotch on the screen. DR's went down until they fixed it.
The signature pad was a replaceable part but they had to send the DIADs out to get them repaired. I think the pad cost about $200 on a $1300 DIAD.

I started with diad 1 it was amazing for wacking aggressive dogs
Attitude adjustment. I had a pickup at a house, they made computer discs or something. They had a sketchy English setter that was dying to bite me. I didn’t dare turn my back on him. The people we’re oblivious too this, no discipline at all. I would sit at their table and sign the pick up log while the dog was under the table near my leg. One day I had enough, while the dog was near my leg I reached down and whacked him in the face with a slipper that was on the floor. They were speechless. I looked at them and said, the problem with that dog is he has no discipline. I finished writing and left, never heard a word. We lost the account to another center, since it wasn’t even in my area to begin with.
