525 Layoffs

This is happening all over the country. We held the company under a knife and demanded raises based on Covid/Pandemic profits. Not a sustainable business model, this is UPS way of making sure they don’t drown and go under like so many freight companies or Sears, you name it. You have to adapt. Honestly I’d be more worried if I worked in a building that wasn’t getting a facelift, writing is on the wall IMO. Just wish they would start adding AC for the buildings to these renovations.

Cut the fat and plump up the balance sheet so we can be at 50 an hour in 2028??

Why are jobs going away? Volume down, automation, new larger hubs taking the work?

Unfortunately, work moves around sometimes. People think they have a right to a short commute.

StayDry, it's a largeish hub, we run about 400 cars a day, work 4 shifts. My best guess is about 120061500 or so.

What does Carol have to do with it? Stuff happens. In my local, the company opened a new hub in Bayonne. Getting there is a traffic nightmare. Jobs were moved there, the new drive to work takes much longer for these guys than from surrounding hubs. Same miles, more time.

Better to have a job than none because you do not want to commute far.

The company put the new hub right near the exit. Unfortunately, the old hub is 50 miles away and this is the only road to get to the expressway. There were putting in a new road but Democrat tree huggers found some salamander in the woods, got a ban on the project.
