639You're in the Atlantic? What local? I'm in the Atlantic too (I think) and management has already told us we cannot be forced in on a 6th punch.
Anyone around here from 509 or 71? Supposedly problem extends to just these three locals in the Atlantic.I'm not far from you at all, probably the next local over. No forced Saturdays for us.

That’s odd implementation of one of the few major winds in the national master agreement is different depending on the local.Anyone around here from 509 or 71? Supposedly problem extends to just these three locals in the Atlantic.
Like I said, I haven’t personally heard of this happening anywhere close to me, but if it is, it shouldn’t be imoThat’s odd implementation of one of the few major winds in the national master agreement is different depending on the local.
Guess we are the only locals that did not come to agreement with the company and referred the issue to the co-chairs of the national negotiating committee. Curious that all are in the same region/suppThat’s odd implementation of one of the few major winds in the national master agreement is different depending on the local.

Harden up snowflake. I spent that whole day in a truck with no heat, my canteens started to freeze in the back. The first truck they tried to give me had no defrost, I refused to drive it. They gave me a new one but the knob was stuck, I couldn’t change from defrost to heat. I delivered every package on my truck save one, for a business that was closed when I got there (after 17:00). I EC’d it.Coldest day I ever experienced as a driver was last peak season. It was dangerous and we should have been home.
Probably not but personally, I would handle it the same way it was handled the last five years during the previous contract and just not go in if I didn’t want to. Really have a hard time believing a panel would terminate you especially with language now that says you shouldn’t be there anyway. Not a good situation at all
Had a guy here get up to a 3day suspension for calling out on his sixth maybe a year ago. Might be what I end up doing but I would feel more comfortable with that plan if my BA was on board.Probably not but personally, I would handle it the same way it was handled the last five years during the previous contract and just not go in if I didn’t want to. I don’t really know that situation from before, but the new language would be difficult for a panel to give someone that kind of discipline imoHad a guy here get up to a 3day suspension for calling out on his sixth maybe a year ago. I wish every day could be like that, I only had to speak to one customer. It was a guy who saw me walking up his half-mile driveway on camera and drove down to meet me. He offered me a ride back to my truck. I accepted it just to be polite. If you’re getting paid $50 / hour to play in the snow like a little kid and you choose to complain about it, you need to re-evaluate your life.

When I went outside that morning I had ice form on my mustache from the moisture in my breath. We showed up worked all day and did our job. We didn't cry, whine or quit, so I think we earned the right to say it sucked. If you have defrost, you have some heat. I've spent many hours in a car where the blower motor went out at some point during the day. I didn't make them come switch my car, snowflake.
