And what did UPS say about that? Not that we wish we didn't have to work people so long or we could not get enough qualified people or there is just WAY more volume than expected. Nope, none of these statemen but this award winning statement.

"UPS appreciates exceptional effort of all employees during our peak holiday shipping season, when delivery volumes near double the normal level," UPS said in a statement Monday morning. "Our employees’ scheduled work week is in compliance with Department of Transportation requirements. Union-represented employees are paid time and one-half for work above 40 hours per week and they receive the industry’s most attractive compensation and benefits program.”
I understand the show of unity in New England about this 70hr bs

But honestly, what is me getting up early when I already am gonna do 65 hours in 5 days to stand in the parking lot going to do?

You guys want to make a statement? Have everybody call in Saturday. Seems as people have no balls

I'm not working any Saturday's, I should have a intent to terminate letter before Christmas since they are attempting to discipline for Saturday's in my building.

Ups doesn't care, they are absolutly right about following dot rules

I can promise there is very little above and beyond going on.

They are just paying a premium for an extreme dropoff in production.

I'm not even talking about the DOT rules, it's the robotic response and almost slap in the face towards all of us with them basically saying, "who cares how long they work, they get paid well and have good benefits"

I can promise there is very little above and beyond going on.

But yet there are still dead days in my center. Who is going to put forth the extra effort to go above and beyond with the attitude of upper management giving press releases like that.

So...today they switched my truck with the guys next to me...they also gave us the same hin or Pal or whatever...so I’ve got about 100 of his missed Saturday pieces...plus since we both have the same pal I have half his stuff and half mine and then whatever got left at the building...this is the most embarrassing day of my career

Amazon seems to be delivering all my stuff on time.....

"They can't succeed in shipping business is" is what everybody was saying on here

They are doing a hell of a lot better than ups this year

Back at the ranch I'm looking at tons of misses. I guess the sat guys were told not to scan the missed packages, so a bunch of stuff is not in edd!!! Good plan!!

You need to just shut up and be happy they allowed that crap team of yours into the playoffs. What a load of S* that was.

stand in the parking lot going to do?
It got them some news coverage and that may lead to more news coverage! If there's anything that the UPS shareholders don't like, it's BAD PRESS! The news coverage also lets other UPS Package Drivers in other areas to know it's not an isolated problem and MAYBE it will encourage others to take a stand and speak up. This could lead to some UNITY and then the courage to do what you also suggest, not to come in on Saturday! Every little bit helps.

But ups is doing nothing illegal. The issue is more with the dot allowing us to work 70hr than ups letting us work 70hr

Like I said before... call in. About 1/3rd of our center didn't bother showing up sat.

I would much rather see bad press about packages being delivered a weeek late then bad press about drivers complaint about too much o/t at time and a half.

You guys gotta understand people don't care how much we work.... they want their :censored2:. Keep coming in sat and your playing right into the customers hands. Don't come In sat, let the loads roll and see how fast people get mad their 2 day amazon stuff is coming in 10 days.

But hey. Doing what the ne drivers did today is def better than nothing.

Good thing your orders aren't in the 20 loads a day Amazon is sending to our building... How many Uber style trunkfulls would that be?

I bet they aren't delivering 2% of their own peak volume.

Almost all of my amazon orders are delivered by Amazon them selves and are at my house in 2 days.
