Lmao. Didn’t even clear $1400.00 lmao. Brought home 13 and change. What a bunch of bullsheet. Could have had 12 hours of my life back and cleared 11 and change. 19.99 hours of OT at 20 cents on the dollar. What a ripoff.

You better make sure wages aren't being garnished, simple math tells me this story has some holes in it...

I guess you could be somewhere with crazy state taxes but on the federal side your taxes can't be more than 33% of the extra amount you earned and you'll get 5-8% of that back when you file.

You're not grasping this at all I'm done.

Okay. But it's not just me. I talked to almost ten feeder drivers tonight with more seniority than me, and very knowledgeable guys. To a man, they said your example of drivers working 70 hours during Mon-Fri., were violating the DOT hours of service rules.

Your second message asked where it says that, and it can be found on the DOT website under Hours of Service. Simply put, it says without the 34 hour reset, you are limited to 60 hours in a 7 day period, or 70 hours in a 8 day period. So doing 70 hours in a 5 day period--once again, without a reset--is a violation of hours of service.

I posted this earlier. If some of you flowers are too delicate, take an extra hour before or two of meal and sleep during your 14.

If you're as exhausted as you claim it won't be an issue falling asleep. Drivers do it all the time in feeders. If management bitches tell them you felt unsafe to drive.
exactly true. even if you have hours you don't have to work if you feel under the weather and unsafe.

call out .legally there is nothing they can do but everyone knows ups. they'll probably retaliate in someway.

Where do you keep getting this "without a reset" from? We reset every weekend.

But if you're socking away what you say, you're still getting a leg up on your 401k. Think of it as delayed gratification, or getting to retirement that much sooner. I have identical deductions, and made $3800 Thanksgiving week and barely brought home $1900, but I also put $580 in my 401K.

Brownslave said he knew drivers who worked 70 hours(14 hours a day for 5 days in a row) from a Monday to a Friday. No reset until the weekend, but by then it was too late.

Also, you can work as many days in a row, theoretically, without a reset, as you want or can. You just need 10 hours off between shifts, and be able to keep track of the hours that fall off, whether you are working the 7/60 or 8/70. So, say you're working the 8/70. On the 9th day, the hours from the first day of the 8/70 fall off. You just need to keep an accurate tab on the hours that fall off every day.

If you were a glutton for punishment, you could do this in perpetuity. But honestly, it is a nightmare keeping track of the hours. That is why it is called keeping a running total. We're truck drivers, not mathematians.

I don't know man, some are clearly novelists.

My whole point from the start of this fiasco was just bring some awareness to working the 8/70 shift. We don't do it that often in feeders. And it can be confusing. We deal with tracking our hours every day in feeders, and if you go over your hours, it can mean big trouble.

Honesty, I don't know how close of an eye the DOT tracks it. I have no clue if they have real time info on us or not. But in our feeder department, if you violate, expect to have a few unpaid days off. And the DOT manual clearly states the fines. They range from $1000 to $11,000 per violation. I would just hate to see a package car driver get in trouble for going over his hours, especially since their supervisors seem to know even less about it than them.
