So true and in the case of conservatives, military, border and crime is their own form of centralized socialism.
You mean the things that the Federal gov't should be taking care of? Otherwise delegate much of the rest back to the States. Federalism, not socialism.

Regardless what you call it, still a social response for the collective will.

Social collectivism by any other name as you expect others to provide and pay for something you think should be socially mandated.

No, it's spelled out in the Constitution what the Federal Gov't's powers and responsibilities are. It's not what I or any other conservative thinks it ought to be. Problem we have lately is quite a few don't seem to recognize the authority of the Constitution unless it jibes with what they want.

Constitution still creates a collective action for the so-called social good.

So? Our government acts more as a referee and legal enforcer than as the ultimate authority controlling everything.

I'll remember that next time I walk into my wife's law firm's law library and note the annual adding of shelf space just for the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) alone.

You should be happy with Trump then. He's reducing regulations.

My 60 years has taught me one important lesson about all politicians and that is they lie. Even more so on the campaign trail. So far the Federal Register grows daily so the proof is that this promise was a lie as well. The other proof that regulations are not in decline is that that actual cost of gov't will reduce proportional to those reductions. Fact is cost of gov't continues to increase. The proof in the pudding is $$$$ & sense.
