Came to find out Royal Enfield hasn't even been British since the 70's. Headquartered and built in India now.
Yes. They came back to the US probably 10 years ago with the Bullet. An actual brand new 1949 motorcycle. This bike would give you an authentic old Britbike experience.

Apparently with the Interceptor in 2019 they really revamped their quality control. I would hope. I wouldn't want to take the GT out of consideration.

You know, it was absolutely no accident that the Yamaha MT models this year come in the same color scheme as my wife's outfit.

Her design was specifically influenced by the old Yamaha synthesizers like the DX7. While there's no official confirmation of it, I don't think it's farfetched to think Yamaha looked to their own history for color inspiration to use on their new bike.

BEST TO FORGET the Royal Enfield "legacy".......and consider the brand and product a competition of "Chinese quality" bikes.
India is dabbling in supercross....sorta. You can find very limited coverage on the net. Just look at the bikes in those races.
Luckily, the RE bikes haven't quite taken on the "Chinese/Viet Nam/Asian..." look. I came very close to buying a Himalayan 400 and maybe even the 650 Mid. I've been looking for a commuter bike to eventually replace my 2008 Kaw Concours. The RE bikes have simple screw type valve adjustment and that's what I'm looking for. My Kaw takes a full weekend and at least a couple hundred bucks to adjust the valves. It's stupidly complicated. I put 400 miles a week on my bikes.....

Considering price mostly.......The RE bikes are(but getting less so) a decent value. Now, reliability, parts availability......is an unknown quantity/quality. The 650's are good looking throwback, retro style standards. A great choice for a Sunday morning ride.

In the end, any Jap and some Euro brands would probably be a total better value. IMHO.

I have no doubt that India is capable of engineering and producing quality products when they choose to.
Fair enough....Could you name a few? Things that that anyone in the world would say "I going to get my (blank) from India!

They can't make airplanes(Migs military/Russian). And moon rovers? Just stolen engineering. Most of India is third world.

I’ve had my CF Moto CLX 700 Sport a year this week. The only problem I’ve had with it is the electronic gear indicator was not reading correctly and it was fixed under 2 year warranty. Pretty solid Chinese brand so far.

That's my biggest concern with them. Long term reliability and parts availability. The new ones have an excellent warranty by motorcycle standards, but the closest dealership is a two hour haul. And they really haven't been over here long enough to prove their track record after that. Sucks because of all the ones I've been considering, the GT fits the bill looks-wise better than any of them.

Tata Motors has some great engineers designing great products.

Why do you think the moon rover was stolen engineering? I'm sure they outsourced building sophisticated parts, but a lot of companies do that.

India is the home of yoga, the Taj Mahal and the Kama Sutra.

That is ample evidence they are not stupid people, and can produce world-class products if they want to.

I've heard that curry is to irritate and drive away intestinal parasites.
I believe it
I delivered to a campus apartment complex where they housed all the married rag heads. They would get that stuff in 50lb boxes stink up the whole truck. Then when you would deliver the funk coming out of those apartments would about knock you over. I bid off of that bull:censored2: as soon as possible
