“We are not prepared to hold that a minority, residing or remaining in any city or town where smallpox is prevalent, and enjoying the general protection afforded by an organized local government, may thus defy the will of its constituted authorities, acting in good faith for all, under the legislative sanction of the state,” the justices wrote in 1905. “If such be the privilege of a minority, then a like privilege would belong to each individual of the community, and the spectacle would be presented of the welfare and safety of an entire population being subordinated to the notions of a single individual who chooses to remain a part of that population.”

Vaccine Mandates Are as American as Apple Pie

If you support mandatory vaccination to fight Covid-19, you are in good company. The first vaccine mandate in American history came from none other than George Washington at the height of the American Revolution. America’s struggle for independence coincided with a major smallpox epidemic that...

“The liberty secured by the Constitution of the United States to every person within its jurisdiction does not import an absolute right in each person to be, at all times and in all circumstances, wholly free from restraint,” the court wrote. “There are manifold restraints to which every person is necessarily subject for the common good.” - supreme court?

Not without due process, and burden of proof is on society that any such restraint is necessary, and only for such a time as is necessary. Thanks to the 5th amendment, a person can't be conpelled to participate in his own prosecution. A vaccine is long term, can't be undone, and may harm the individual, there is no justification for forced vaccination.

"Finally, forced vaccines constitute a form of battery, and the Supreme Court long made clear 'no right is more sacred than the right of every individual to the control of their own person, free from all restraint or interference of others.'" UNION PAC. RY. CO. v. BOTSFORD.

"Demanding employees divulge their personal medical information invades their protected right to privacy, and discriminates against them based on their perceived medical status, in contravention of the Americans with Disabilities Act. (42 USC §12112(a).) Indeed, the ADA prohibits employers from invasive inquiries about their medical status, and that includes questions about diseases and treatments for those diseases, such as vaccines. As the EEOC makes clear, an employer can only ask medical information if the employer can prove the medical information is both job-related and necessary for the business."

“There is, of course, a sphere within which the individual may assert the supremacy of his own will, and rightfully dispute the authority of any human government, especially of any free government existing under a written constitution, to interfere with the exercise of that will,” the Supreme Court wrote in Jacobson. “But it is equally true that in every well-ordered society charged with the duty of conserving the safety of its members the rights of the individual in respect of his liberty may at times, under the pressure of great dangers, be subjected to such restraint, to be enforced by reasonable regulations, as the safety of the general public may demand.”

No great danger here. Great survivability rate.

Mandated vaccinations are bad because in America, nobody but you gets to decide what goes in your body

So the argument is that you should have to take something that could kill you because people are exposed to other hazards all the time? I think to even make an argument like that you'd have to have an IQ in the low 80's, who knows how low it would have to be to buy it, then pass it along like it makes any sense.

zub the point is things are being decided for you all the time and theyre bad for you, and ur not doing anything about it.

Alright so what we know with almost certainly is that round two of lockdowns is gonna begin in about two weeks. This ones gonna be longer and its gonna be more authoritarian thats a given. And its all gonna be blamed on the unvaccinated thats a big key. And probably its the last chance at a peaceful resolution which its small but its something
