Because telling someone there’s something terrible that could kill them unless they take precautions is always going to make them not vote for you , as opposed to keeping them in the dark and killing them.

Inordinately Right
At the outset of the outbreak, Trump repeatedly downplayed the threat of the virus, promising Americans that the number of cases would miraculously drop to zero. As of Wednesday morning, however, the coronavirus death toll in the U.S. has officially surpassed the number of Americans killed in the Vietnam War.

Winning!
Trump listened to the doctors who were downplaying the threat. You are using a pandemic for political points because you are a garbage human being.

I’m sure there isn’t a salon article that has the truth in it, if that’s what you are asking for.
"If you were to write a playbook for how not to prevent a public-health crisis, you would study the work of the Trump administration in the first three months of 2020. The Trump White House, through some combination of ignorance, arrogance, and incompetence, failed to heed the warnings of its own experts. It failed to listen to the projections of one of its own economic advisers. It failed to take seriously what has become the worst pandemic since the 1918 flu and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. And when the White House finally awoke to the seriousness of COVID-19, the response it mustered managed to contain all the worst traits of this presidency. Trump and his closest aides have ignored scientists, enlisted family members and TV personalities and corporate profiteers for help, and disregarded every protocol for how to communicate during a pandemic while spewing misinformation and lies."

The truth is out there fren, it’s not a story the liberals will cover.

Another milestone 60,009 dead Americans, 1,041,300+known infected. Already 743 dead people today, this after yesterday’s 2,470 dead. Keep an eye on those states that are loosening restrictions. In a week or 10 days you will see a rise in dead and infected. These states are going to put us back at square one.

White House reporter apologizes to Trump for question

NEW YORK (AP) — A Yahoo News reporter apologized to President Donald Trump on Tuesday for misreading a chart and getting wrong the numbers he used as the basis for a question on U.S. testing for the coronavirus.

Trump taunted the reporter, Hunter Walker, after Dr. Deborah Birx corrected the numbers during an Oval Office news conference.

“Are you going to apologize, Yahoo?” the president said. “That's why you're Yahoo and nobody knows who the hell you are.”

Walker later tweeted that he had misread a chart and was sorry about it. The president, at a later event, thanked Walker for the apology and said he appreciated it.

You would think that story would be on Yahoo news. Odd how its nowhere to be found there.
