In part, because some hospitals are closing their facilities, just in case a coronavirus patient is admitted.

They should designate certain hospitals for coronavirus treatment, and others should be for normal operations.
Unprecedented and unreasonable response in many ways.
There are certainly things the country and the healthcare system could be doing better/ more effectively, you'll get no argument from me on that. I don't think the answer is to try and mitigate this and treat it like it's not that big of a deal. 50k dead in a month is no joke, and if the administration's projections are accurate we could be pushing 80k per month by June.

5 Million Cases Worldwide, 650,000 Deaths Annually: The Seasonal Flu Virus is a “Serious Concern”, But the Wuhan Coronavirus Grabs the Headlines

Seasonal flu death estimate increases worldwide

Wednesday, December 13, 2017, 6:30 p.m. ET

According to new estimates published today, between 291,000 and 646,000 people worldwide die from seasonal influenza-related respiratory illnesses each year, higher than a previous estimate of 250,000 to 500,000 and based on a robust, multinational survey.

We should've never been allowed outside... Look at those numbers.o_O
I feel you have to remember that, during the period when testing could have really helped, do you got tested yet?

Do you ever remember shutting down the country like this before for any other reason? Yeah, me either.:wink-very:

And what about this fallout?

"We are talking about people who have not only skipped critical care for acute stroke and acute heart attack but in addition, all the biopsies for unsuspected and now undiscovered tumors have not occurred. We are talking thousands per week of those. What is more so even ironic is that people are skipping their children's vaccines. Not only people that have died and are dying, but we are creating a massive problem by not opening up health care with this single-minded policy of COVID-19 at all costs."

So, Covid-19 is no joke, but the way we are handling it in many ways is. JMHO
TRUMP cut funding for CDC, close down infectious diseases unit, They should have done more with less right?

'' Do you ever remember shutting down the country like this before for any other reason? NO,'' We didn't have a vaccine for HIV, and life did go on'', not for 30+ million individuals who've died from it. :rain::thunderstorm::dead:
''So, Covid-19 is no joke, but the way we are handling it in many ways is.JMHO'' People died from death every second. We must find a way from prevent people from dying! :wink-very:

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
When you value money over others' lives, We don't have a vaccine again for HVI life still goes on and your freedom still goes on you can still play around with the hookers or side girls or strip club,:sailor: It's a difference if someone has to cough on you or everything you touch and you take home to your family.:dead:
Not having money is killing loads of people also. Covid is killing less than 1% of people.

Thats worth 20% unemployment? That’s worth all of the tumors not getting tested because people aren’t going to doctors? Worth all of the heart attacks and strokes that aren’t getting treated? That’s worth all of the mental health problems and abuse happening in homes where people are told to lock down inside together? The list goes on and on and on.

Come on, do you really think heart attacks and strokes aren't getting treated???? Why do you think oncologists are not seeing patients?

Get real. Do you really think heart attacks and strokes aren't getting treated???? What in God's name makes you think oncologists are not seeing patients?
Patients aren’t going to the doctors. That’s not even debatable. The stats bear it out. People didn’t suddenly stop having heart attacks or getting cancer. So if the number of those patients being seen or diagnosed is down it’s very easy to understand why.
Routine cancer screenings have plummeted during the pandemic

Routine screenings are down according to that study. But delaying a 5 year follow-up test or even an annual screening isn't the same as a heart attack or stroke victim not getting care. ALL of the doctor's offices, including optometrists, Dentists and Chiropractors are and have been open throughout all this.

Granted, this is just in my corner of the country.

1% of America is over 3 million people. Is that the price you are willing to pay to save Wall Street?
