Dilemma Fedex Full Time or UPS Seasonal

It will be fine

Go with UPS through the season and try to stay on after. It that doesn't pan out and they let you go give the Ground contractor a call. If he's not hiring some other contractor will be. It's not ups but it's a job.

These topics pop up a lot and the responses are just terrible. You should go UPS first off. Once your in the driver seat start kissing butt. Seriously you want them to keep you after the holidays give them a reason to. Bring breakfast tacos for your supervisors, and finish strong every day, work off the clock if need be. If your just a pedestrian driver or just barely finishing every day you won't make it. Once your on permanently then start doing the union stuff to save your body.

Fedex Ground drivers are paid a flat rate. The guy I knew would get paid $725/week. It didn't matter if he worked 8 hours a day or 14 hours a day. And then he was responsible for paying his own income taxes at the end of the year, so you would have to budget that in and then file a 1099 at the end of the year and pay your own taxes.
Totally not worth it.

Just started my 28th year and I have yet to break $80K.

You're one of the exceptions. I have never gone over $86k myself but I also haven't worked a full year in two years. But on average and by the time this lad would make top rate, it would be close to $90k. Also, right now, a top rate driver's base pay is ~$75k.

I made 91k last year. Start taking out misloads or calling in and ask if anyone needs help. Overtime is there if you want it. Luckily for me I just transferred buildings so ill be at the bottom again being forced to work ot for the next year until I gain seniority back.

Definitely avoid FedEx Ground. If you make a good impression with UPS there's a decent chance they'll keep you after peak. $90k+, pension, health insurance & 401k compared to $37k, no 401k, no health insurance, paying for your own parking tickets, & paying for your own gas. Don't even sleep on it.
